      On arrival, you will be met by a representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking and taken to your hotel in Thamel where you can rest or wander around Thamel to do some last-minute shopping before your trek.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Explore Around Kathmandu & Preparation For Climbing.

      Today you will meet with the other members of your trek and your trekking guide. For the remainder of the day, you may wish to explore the city and visit several of its many famous temples such as Pashupatinath, which is regarded as the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal and where pilgrims worship Lord Shiva (situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River), Bouddhanath, a Buddhist temple known as โ€˜Little Tibetโ€™ and then on to Swayambhunath known as the Monkey Temple. From Swayambhunath we drive to Kathmanduโ€™s famous Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, and located in front of the old royal palace.

      Today we have a long but scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi, where our trek begins. We follow the Trishuli River Valley through the pretty villages of Dhunche, Trishuli Bazaar, and Betrawati. Along the way, you will see many snow-capped mountains in the distance, and pass through lush valleys and past rivers until we come to Syabru Besi.

      Today is the first day of our trek as we head to Syabru Besi along the banks of the Bhote Koshi River that originates in Tibet, and the Langtang Khola (river). The trail passes Bamboo Village that is well known for its resident red pandas living nearby. We continue on to Lama Hotel where we will stay the night.

      The day begins as we head higher up the mountainside passing through stunning pink and white rhododendron, hemlock, and oak forests high above Langtang Khola. Halfway to Langtang we arrive at Ghodatabela and then to Langtang Village in the Langtang National Park. The village has typical Tibetan-style houses, terraced fields, and yak pastures.

      Today we follow the trail through several small villages and past grazing land in the valley. We cross a number of small rivers and cross a moraine before arriving at Kyanjin Gompa where we will stay overnight. We will have time to explore the village as we arrive in the early afternoon.

      We have will time today to visit the ancient monastery here or alternatively trek up the hills above the village for even better views of the surrounding mountains. We may also decide to trek up to Langshisha Kharka or Kyanjin Ri (4773m) from where we will have fantastic views over the mountains and down over the valley.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Trek From Kyanjin Gompa To Yala Peak Base Camp (4800M) 5-6 Hours.

      This morning we set out on a relatively long trek to Yala Peak Base Camp where we will practice some of the basic techniques used to climb the peak tomorrow.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek From Yala Peak Base Camp To Yala Peak Summit (5732M) Return To Base Camp 7-9 Hours.

      This is definitely the highlight of the trek. We will get up bright and early in order to reach the summit of Yala Peak. We will have time at the summit to merrily snap away and capture the most stunning views of the Himalayan Mountains. We will then descend to Base Camp for the night.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Trek From Yala Peak Base Camp To Kyanjin Gompa.

      Day 10: Trek From Yala Peak Base Camp To Kyanjin Gompa.

      Today is all downhill as we descend from Yala Peak Base Camp to Kyanjin Gompa. You will have a new perspective of the mountains as you descend to Kyanjin Gompa.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Trek Back To Lama Hotel.

      Day 11: Trek Back To Lama Hotel.

      This morning we head along a trail that has an amazing display of Alpine flowers such as violets, gentian, and edelweiss. This is a short four-hour trek and allows you time to literally stop and smell the flowers! We will then arrive at Lama Hotel and will have time to explore the village. Itโ€™s only a four-hour trek back to Lama Hotel today, so youโ€™ll have somand explore.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Trek To Syafru Bensi (1,460M) 5-6 Hours.

      This will be our final day on the trail as we head to Syabru Besi. Along the trail, we pass the Chilime hydropower power plant at Sherpagaon a source of power for the nearby villages. The villages in this area are largely comprised of land Tamang people. Tonight you can celebrate with your fellow trekkers and guides on the successful completion of your climb to Yala Peak.

  • Day 13 Day 13: Drive Back To Kathmandu 6-7 Hours.

      Today we have a road trip back to Kathmandu with views of several snow-covered mountains and lush landscapes. We will take you back to your hotels in Thamel when we arrive at Kathmandu. You can rest or wander the winding streets of Thamel.

      A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will take you to the airport at least three hours prior to your scheduled departure from Nepal. We hope that your trip home is a safe one and that you may be dreaming of your next adventure to Nepal โ€“ maybe a 7000-meter mountain! The climbing bug is contagious!
