Today we will return to the city of Zugdidi, visit a beautiful park with the palace of the Dadiani princes. Let’s try Mingrelian cuisine again and continue our journey. And along the way we will be greeted by tangerines, oranges, and lemons. If we’re lucky, we’ll ask the locals to participate in collecting citrus fruits. In Batumi, a hotel awaits us in the old town. Batumi has its pros and cons. The city was built quite recently - at the beginning of the 19th century, as Porto Franco - an outlet to Europe, for trade routes on the Black Sea. Built during the reign of the Ottoman Empire, but completely European in style, urban planning and European merchants. At the end of the 19th century, it was the main artery of trade in oil, food, tobacco, rice, and flax. The first Transcaucasian railway was laid from Baku to Batumi (for oil transportation).
