Without a doubt, this is one of the most impressive monuments in the entire area, with 54 towers and more than 200 enormous carved faces, representing the bodhisattva Avalokitecvara. Our next visit will be to the Phimeanakas and Bapuon temples and the magnificent Terraces of the Leper King and the Elephants, which have impressive bas-reliefs. We will continue by road to Kravan, one of the most peculiar temples in the area, built in bricks and dedicated to the Hindu God Visnu. Both the distribution of its towers and its bas-reliefs (on brick) are unique in Khemer art. Our last visit will be to Angkor Wat, the jewel of the area, the largest and most monumental temple ever built. Also dedicated to Vishnu, it is the perfect replica of Mount Meru, the place where the gods of the Hindu pantheon live. Its bas-reliefs are of special interest. This 10th century temple, which has been inaccessible to visitors until recently, is one of the most beautiful and harmonious of all Khemer art. After the visit we will go to Banteay Samre, a small temple dedicated to Vishnu and built in the 12th century in the style of Angkor Wat and recently restored. We will leave again for the archaeological area where we will visit Ta Prohm, the sister temple of the jungle, one of the great monuments of the area that has remained exactly as the 19th century explorers found it. Huge trees embrace the stones of the temple, forming a surreal ensemble in which it is not known where each of the two elements begins and ends. We will continue our tour visiting Chau Say Tevoda and Thomanom, small and almost twin temples of great harmony that inspire serenity.
