  • Day 1 Vancouver - Nanaimo - Coombs - Cathedral Grove - Port Alberni - Ucluelet - Tofino

      STOP 1: Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. After boarding the ferry in Horseshoe Bay, enjoy the 1.5-hour trip to Nanaimo. Enjoy breakfast onboard, or head to the upper deck to take in the fresh air and scenery. Keep an eye out for whales, eagles and other wildlife โ€“ the Salish Sea is a rich marine environment. STOP 2: Nanaimo. Known as the โ€œHarbour Cityโ€ due to its lovely, island-sheltered harbour right in the middle of the city, this urban oasis offers recreation, dining, shopping, museums and festivals. STOP 3: Old Country Market in Coombs. This Market is well recognized for having goats on it's living rooftop. Take some time here to peruse the market and the adjoining stores; itโ€™s a feast of sights, sounds and smells, with specialty crafts, food, baked goods, candy, and 55 flavors of ice cream. STOP 4: MacMillan Provincial Park, also known as Cathedral Grove.  This park provides awe-inspiring views of one of the most accessible stands of old-growth rainforest on Vancouver Island. The meandering trails allow visitors an up-close look at the trees that make up BCโ€™s iconic rainforest, with massive Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar more than 800 years old and 30ft in circumference. STOP 5: Port Alberni. This is the half-way point of the drive to Ucluelet and Tofino This sprawling oceanside town has deep roots in the forest and fishing industries and it proudly showcases this connection through sites like McLean Mill National Historic Site and the Maritime Discovery Centre.  STOP 6: Ucluelet. Welcome to the Pacific Rim! The short drive down the Ucluth peninsula takes you to the small town of Ucluelet, where outdoor adventure is the order of the day. Looking to hook the big one? Fishing charters abound. Hungry? Head to Norwoods for an unforgettable meal, or enjoy the spectacular views from Black Rock Resort. Several surf schools offer rentals and lessons, or try a guided kayak tour the harbour or the Broken Group Islands. STOP 7: Tofino. Drive through Pacific Rim National Park and then check into your hotel and enjoy free time to spend as you like.

      STOP 1: Pacific Rim National Park. Pacific Rim National Park Reserve is a 511 kmยฒ park located in British Columbia, comprising three separate regions: Long Beach, the Broken Group Islands, and the West Coast Trail. It represents the Pacific Coast Mountains landscape which is characterized by rugged coasts and temperate rainforests. 2 hours STOP 2: Long Beach. This is one of North Americaโ€™s best surf towns. Here, surfing is a year-round sport.  There is whale watching, wildlife and bear viewing opportunities, and no trip to Tofino is complete without a dip in the scenic Hot Springs Cove. 3 hours STOP 3: Ucluelet Aquarium. Here we experience the amazing marine life that inhabits the waters of Barkley and Clayoquot Sounds. STOP 4: Wild Pacific Trail, Ucluelet. Destination for scenic tree-topped hikes overlooking rugged coastline & breaking waves.The Wild Pacific Trail begins near the mouth of the Ucluelet Inlet, at Amphitrite Point Lighthouse. STOP 5: Port Alberni. Port Alberni boasts a magnificent, deep-sea port at the head of the Alberni Inlet opening into Barkley Sound and the Pacific Ocean. We'll stop here for photos. The city, and surrounding valley, enjoys a moderate climate and is well-known for it's breathtaking scenery. Surrounded by mountains, freshwater lakes, and streams, the area is popular for its salmon fishing, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, off-roading, golfing and wildlife. STOP 6: Nanaimo. Here we will board the ferry back to Vancouver. STOP 7: We return to our starting point in downtown Vancouver.
