      Upon arrival at Urumqi Diwopu International Airport or Urumqi Railway Station, your guide will pick you up at arrival exit and then transfer you to the hotel. 

      Accommodation: Urumqi 3-star Jinggu Hotel or equivalent

  • Day 2 Day 2: Urumqi - Heavenly Lake - Urumqi

      Day 2: Urumqi - Heavenly Lake - Urumqi

      Today your first stop of the day is Xinjiang Museum that is renown for the well-preserved mummies excavated from the desert. The museum is closed on Mondays. The mummies are exhibited on the second floor with amazed conditions. Moreover there are plenty of relics in the musuem as well displaying the slendid history in Xinjiang. After the museum, you will take one-hour ride to Heavenly Lake, which is called Tianshan in Chinese. Located on the north of the Tianshan Mountains, Heavenly Lake is a quiet place to view mountains with the blue lake water. This afternnon, you will wander around the Erdaoqiao International Bazaar in Urumqi, where you can purchase all sorts of souvenirs.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Urumqi - Turpan

      Day 3: Urumqi - Turpan

      After hotel breakfast, you will take a 3-hour ride to Turpan, a historical town on the ancient Silk Road with splendid history. Upon arrival, you will visit Emin Minaret or Sugong Minaret which is the symbol of Turpan with its pretty Uyghur architecture. Then you will explore the Ancient City of Gaochang, Bezklik Grottos, and Astana Ancient Tombs with local guide to learn the history and culture. Lunch is arranged at local Uyghur home or restaurant.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Turpan - Liuyuan (Via Bullet Train) - Dunhuang
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 4: Turpan - Liuyuan (Via Bullet Train) - Dunhuang

      Today we will explore  Ancient City of Jiaohe that was built on the 30-meter platform. The history of Jiaohe can be tracked back to 2200 years ago, and unfortunately the city was abandoned in the 14th century. Jiaohe played an important role on the northen Silk Road and always under the jurisdiction of Gaochang. It is interesting to explore the ruin while wandering the lanes, temples and houses etc. today. Afterwards, you will catch a 3.5-hour bullet train to Liuyuan and be transferred 2 hours to Dunhuang hotel by car. You can explore the Shazhou night market in Dunhuang, where there are shops, restaurants, and stands to sell souvenirs.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Dunhuang

      Day 5: Dunhuang

      You will visit the highlight of Silk Road today, Mogao Grottoes, where you will be impressed by the fresco and statues in the caves. These caves are colorful and well-preserved after 1500 years. Some frescos are telling the stories about the Buddha. You will learn the history with a professional cave guide. In the afternoon, move to the Singing Sand Dunes and the Crescent Moon Spring near the city Dunhuang, where you have an option to ride camels.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Dunhuang - Jiayuguan
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 6: Dunhuang - Jiayuguan

      Take train or car from Dunhuang to Jiayuguan. Upon arrival, your guide will take you to visit Jiayuguan Fort, Overhanging Great Wall.

      Accommodation: Jiayuguan 3-star Starway Hotel or equivalent

  • Day 7 Day 7: Departing From Jiayuguan

      If time permits, you can visit Wei Jin Ancients Tombs before heading to Jiayuguan Airport where this 7-day trip concludes.
