  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel for check-in. We will also give you a briefing on what to expect on the trek. You will stay overnight a hotel close to Thamel โ€“ the tourist hub of Kathmandu.


  • Day 2 Day 2: Drive To Pokhara (900M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      Our journey begins with a 6-7 hour drive to Pokhara Valley and its attractive Phewa Tal (lake) and then checking in to your hotel near Phewa Tal. There is a load to see and do along Lakeside with its many shops, bars and restaurants to choose from.


  • Day 3 Day 3: From Pokhara Fly To Jomsom (2700M & Trek To Kagbeni (2800M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      Today we fly from Pokhara to Jomsom, a 20 to 25-minute scenic flight with amazing views of the famous Kali Gandaki Gorge (worldโ€™s deepest), as well as views of several gigantic peaks, Mt. Dhaulagiri, the Annapurna Ranges and Mt. Machapuchare (Fishtail). From Jomson we begin our trek to Kagbeni, about a 3-4 hour trek. Kagbeni is also the checkpoint where authorities will check your documents before you enter the restricted Upper Mustang region. Along the trail, you will have views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Tukuche Peak. We will stay the night at Kagbeni.

      Today we follow the east bank of the Kali Gandaki climbing over numerous ridges until we reach Tangbe village. This charming town is a maze of narrow alleys amongst white-washed mud and stone houses, buckwheat fields and apple trees. The magnificent Mt. Nilgiri fills the southern sky of Kagbeni. We will then trek to Chhusang Village for 2 hours and then cross the Kali Gandaki River. After crossing the Kali Gandaki Valley we will climb up to Tiche Chele. Along the trail, the culture is predominantly Manang but as you get further into the Mustang area it has a more Tibetan influence. We will stay overnight at a guesthouse in Chele.

      Today we cross a barren landscape through a coppery red-colored canyon. We then descend through some Chortens located on a ridge until we reach the quaint village of Samar. From there ascend to the ridge and then descend into a deep gorge. We keep trekking through another valley, crossing fields, across a stream before climbing up a 3800-meter ridge. We then head through a pass and along a ridge before descending to Syangboche. We will stay here overnight at a guesthouse.

      Today we head uphill to a pass at 3,770 and then head downhill to the village of Geling. At the head of the valley we have to cross some rugged terrain before coming to the Nyi La Pass (3,840m). We then head downhill to where the trail forks to the right leading to Charang and the left leading to Ghami a small village of whitewashed mud and stone houses sitting beneath the cliffs. We will stay here overnight at a guesthouse.

      Today we trek through the driest and most arid landscape of Mustang. It is hard going and tiring, but on arrival at Charang, there is a great panorama of the surrounding rocky mountains. Charang is a large village at the top of the Charang Chu Canyon. In the village, there is a medieval fort and several red Gompas (temples) that have an amazing collection of statues and Thangkas. We will stay here overnight at a guesthouse.

      The trail today is uphill to Lo-Gekar, the home of one of the oldest Tibetan monasteries in the world. Lo-Gekar Gompa is older than the well known Samye Gompa in Tibet. From Lo Gekar we go by horse to Lo-Manthang. The trail passes the ancient walled city of Lo-Manthang before descending and crossing a stream to Lo-Manthang where we will stay overnight.

      Today we will explore this ancient town of Lo-Manthang beginning with a visit to the Gompa. This beautiful Gompa sits on a hilltop that signifies its importance. It is also the local courthouse. We will then visit the small village of Tingkhar northwest of Lo Manthang and then go to Champa Lhakhang where there is a large Buddha statue and elaborate Mandalas painted on the walls. We will spend the night in a guesthouse at Lo-Manthang.

      Today we fall the trail as it ascends to 4070m and then leads to Chogo La Pass (4320m), the highest altitude on our trek. We then head down and cross the Charang River and head to Lo Gekar, along the way passing the village of Ghar Gompa (3839m) with its Tibetan religious structures. From Ghar Gompa, we follow the trail down to Drakmar where we will stay overnight.

      With Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri as a backdrop we will head down to Syangboche via Rachen Gompa. We will spend the night in a guesthouse at Syangboche.

      Today we cross several steep ridges on our way to Tetang before reaching Chhusang which sits between two hills. Tonight we will stay here in a guesthouse.

      On our last day on the trail, we first head to Jharkot Village and visit the monastery, the Tibetan Herbal Medicine Center, and its ancient fortress which was previously a palace. During our descent to Jomsom, we will have some amazing views of the Kali Gandaki Valley and Kagbeni Village - the gateway to Mustang. We will celebrate our final day on the trek at Jomsom โ€“ maybe with a few drinks!  We will spend the night here in a guesthouse.

      Today we head to the small airport terminal at Jomson where we take a short 15 to 20 minute flight to Pokhara. Once airborne you will have some awesome views of the Himalayan Mountains. This evening you can sit back and relax and look back on your amazing adventure through the Annapurna Conservation Area and maybe go for a stroll along Lakeside. Other attractions in Pokhara are the World Peace Pagoda (clearly visible across Phewa Tal (lake), Bindabasini Temple, Phewa Lake, Matepani Buddhist Monastery, International Mountain Museum and Deviโ€™s Falls. You will stay overnight in a hotel near Lakeside.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Drive Back To Kathmandu ( 1,350M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      Today we head back on a 6 to 7 hour drive to Kathmandu with many loving memories of Nepal and its unique culture and geography. These memories will be with you for a lifetime!
