  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu & Transfer To Hotel.

      On your arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be met by a representative of Sherpa Expedition and Trekking staff and taken to your respective hotels in Thamel. This will be followed by a briefing concerning the trek, lodges, and hotels we will stay at on the trek. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing & Trip Preparation Day.

      Today is a day of sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley with our guide. We will visit Pashupatinath, considered the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal, and a place where pilgrims go to worship Lord Shiva (situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River); Bouddhanath, a Buddhist temple known as โ€˜Little Tibetโ€™ and then on to Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). From Swayambhunath we then go to Kathmanduโ€™s well-known Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site across from the former royal palace.

      This morning we head by bus Pokhara via Prithvi Highway. On reaching Pokhara we can relax or take in some of the sights along โ€˜Lakesideโ€™ โ€“ next to Phewa Tal (lake).

      Today we will take a 20-minute scenic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom in the Mustang region. From Jomsom, we follow along the banks of the Kali Gandaki (river) until we come to Dhangarjung where we will stay the night.

      This morning we follow the trail through fir, birch, and bamboo forests and pass Tibetan monasteries and other signs of Tibetan culture. We then head up to Phoksundo Lake and Ringmo - the starting point of the trail to Dolpo. We finally come to a 3800-meter ridge from where we have remarkable views over the turquoise blue Phoksundo Lake, We then head down to Sangda where we stay the night.

      Today we head to the  Kang Gopa Valley and climb to 4060 meters from where we have wonderful views of  Sonam Kang, Shey Shikar (6239m), and Kang Chunne (6443m). The trail is rocky and desolate. We will camp overnight at Niwar La Phedi.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Trek To Yak Kharka (4,780M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      This morning we will trek to Yak Kharka where we will be spending the night in at the overnight campsite. We will cross two high altitude passes, Niwar La Pass (5,250m) and Tudje La Pass (5,185m) at which point we will have close up mountain views. From here we head down across the rocky terrain for until we come to Yak Kharka where we will stay tonight. The two passes are the highest altitude we will reach on the trek.

      Today we first head to Rakpa Village, through Shey La Pass (5010m) and then descend to Namgung Village. After we pass Namgung Village we cross Dolma La Pass and then climb a steep narrow path to Shey and on to Chharka Village where we will camp overnight. We can also visit Tsakang Gompa (monastery).

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek To Chanla Phedi (4,530M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      This morning we will head higher and cross Shey La Pass (5010m) and descend for a while before climbing to Namjung Village, to Namjung Khola (river), and on to Karang Village. We then head downhill to Torak Sumdo and then climb up to Yanger Gompa (3750m). Once again we descend and head to Mugoan Village and then ascend to Mushi La Pass (5030m) before continuing on to Shimen Village (4010m), Pha (4090m) and on to Tinje Village. Finally, we arrive at Chanla Phedi where we camp the night.

      Today we climb up to Charkala (4,920m) and then head down the side of the valley and then up over a crest before again descending to the small river. The valley gradually narrows. Continuing on we come to Do Tarap where we will camp the night.

      We will today explore the picturesque valley of Dho Tarap. Dho and Tarap are some of the highest altitude settlements in the world. The people here are Khampas and originate from Tibet and follow their distinctive form of Buddhism, Bon Po. From here we have incredible views over the mountains to the west and of the turquoise blue Shey Phoksundo Lake. We will stay the night at Do Tarap.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Trek To Pangjang Khola Dovan (4,480M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      Today we climb higher through the valley to Tok-Khyu and cross the 5000-meter pass that affords some wonderful views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. We then descend to the Payon Khola (river) and continue on to Namjung, Mungaon, Shimen, Tinje, Rakpa and Norbulung villages until we reach Pangjang Khola Dovan where we will camp the night.

      This morning we follow the trail downhill to reach the small mountain settlement of Tinjegaon. Continuing on we come to Musigaon and cross the thrilling Lnag La Pass. From here we have a steep trek down to Tinjegaon where we will stay the night.

      Today is going to be easier as we mostly head downhill and along the trail will see yak caravans, horses and mules walking along the rocky trail. We will set up our camp at Shimengaon for the night.

      This morning we head downhill again and head for Koma where we will camp the night.

      Today we head down to the valley floor to Saldang. We start by heading north to the Tibetan border and trek through the valley of Nankhang. On arriving at Saldang we can wander around and explore this beautiful small village of approximately 1500 inhabitants. There is also a splendid view of Mt. Kanjiroba from here.

      Todayโ€™s trail takes us to inner Dolpo. In order to reach Shey Gompa, we will have to cross Sela La Pass (5,095) from where we have some awesome views over the Himalayan Mountains.

      Today we can explore this culturally and historically rich place and visit the ancient Gompa dating back to 1665. Shey Gompa is mostly uninhabited except for two annual festivals.

      Lar Tsa is a small village at the base of the mountains. We start by climbing uphill before crossing 5,360m, Kang La Pass (5,360m). We then head down to the river along a rocky trail until we arrive at Lar Tsa where we will camp overnight.

      Today we head to Shey Phoksundo, one of the special features of this trek. Despite the altitude, the water never freezes over. We will stay the night at Ringmo โ€“ near to the lake.

      This morning we head to Sanduwa which literally means three trials. Sanduwa is located between Kagmara Khola and the Phoksundo Khola (river). A national park and an army checkpoint are located at Sanduwa. We will set up our overnight camp here.

      Today we descend to Chhepka leaving the stunning mountains behind us. The trail will follow the stream in a  southerly direction and pass through a beautiful forest before coming to Chhepka where we will stay the night.

      Todayโ€™s trail will take us to Dunai and the large Bheri River. Dunai is the district headquarters and is undergoing major construction. From Dunai you can expect some fantastic panoramic view of the mountains.

      Today we head back to Juphal where we will set up camp for the night.

      We will have two flights today, one from Juphal to Nepalgunj and from there one to Kathmandu (60 minutes). On arrival at Kathmandu, we will take you back to your hotels where you can finally sit back and relax โ€“ or head out to a cafรฉ, bar or restaurant and celebrate the completion of this epic journey.

  • Day 26 Day 26: Leisure Day In Kathmandu.

      As today is a rest day, you may wish to do some further exploration of this historic city. You can do some last-minute shopping around Thamel or visit  Basantapur and the nearby towns of Patan and Bhaktapur.

      Today you will pack your bags and head to the airport. A representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will take you to the airport at least three hours prior to your scheduled departure. On your flight home, youโ€™ll have plenty of time to plan your next exciting adventure to the magnificent mountains of Nepal.
