Meals

Meals included are 2 x breakfasts, 2 x lunches, 2 x dinners. Guests are recommended to eat lunch on Day1 before joining the group. Most of the meals are prepared by our tour guides with basic camping-style food options and on occasions, they will be provided by our accommodation providers onsite. Guests are asked to participate in the preparation of meals, clean-up, and vehicle unpacking/loading as itโ€™s a great way to get to know and connect with your fellow travellers.

Transport

We have a couple of all-terrain 4ร—4 range eco-tour bus, uniquely designed to handle the harshest of terrains and off-road tracks. The maximum number of passengers we carry on these tours is 15-21 people, with a minimum requirement of 8 people to guarantee the departure. Fleet specs: Isuzu N Series NPS300 Trucks (15, 17, 21-seater). In the unlikely event of a breakdown alternative vehicles may be used.

What are the sleeping arrangements? Basic Single Swag (sleeps 1) โ€“ This Basic Single Swag fare price is (Per Person) for Adults or Children. For guests who wish to sleep under the stars on the ground, in a self-contained canvas-covered bush bed roll with a camp mattress. Safari Tent Twin Share (sleeps 2) โ€“ This Safari Tent fare price is (Per Person) for Adults or Children. For guests wishing to sleep in the outback but remain protected from the elements, we provide permanent tented campsites, twin single beds with mattresses, bed linen supplied, and lantern. Our permanent tented campsites have access to communal campground showers and toilets. These sites generally have limited solar power or are unpowered. Therefore, guests are asked to bring rechargeable power banks (limited power access to charge phones or cameras).

For your safety, we have implemented comprehensive hygiene measures and increased regular sanitation. Temperature checks of all staff will be conducted pre-departure, with disposable face masks and hand-sanitizer provided. For more information click here.

Sleeping bags can be hired from us onboard for $40 AUD, this includes cleaning costs. You are more than welcome to bring your own. Payment is made directly to the tour operator. Please advise whether you require this at the time of booking.

Optional

The weather in the Red Centre can fluctuate and be extreme. It is not unheard of for temperatures to reach over 50+ degrees Celsius in the dry season and in the evening the temperature drops dramatically. Please ensure you have checked the average temperatures for the time of year you are travelling and have packed adequate clothing. In the event of rain or inclement weather, your experience will still go ahead, unless contacted by the provider.

Insurance

Travel insurance is highly recommended. It is highly recommended that all passengers have personal travel insurance, given weโ€™re exploring remote parts of the Northern Territory with limited access to health professionals in the event of sickness or injury.       Highlights: Uluru (Ayers Rock) Red Centres Aboriginal interpretive cultural centre Sacred Rock Art Siteย  Mutitjulu Waterhole Kuniya Piti Kantju Gorge Sunset at Uluru lookout Departing from Yulara (Uluru Airport) we head towards Ayers Rock stopping off at Mt Connor (false Uluru) lookout for a view of this mighty red mountain and Curtin Springs for a toilet stop before arriving at our campground. (Guests will need to arrange their own lunch prior to pickup) Then it's off to the Red Centreโ€™s Aboriginal interpretive cultural centre. We have a chance to learn about the cultural, ecological, historical, and geological significance of this very special national park. With the anticipation and excitement growing we make a short drive towards the base of Uluru as we begin to comprehend the sheer size and magnificence of the giant monolith, getting up close and personal to explore further. Walking to Mutitjulu waterhole we discover sacred rock art sites in family caves and hear the creation stories of Kuniya and Liru as we continue our base walk towards Kuniya Piti. ย From here we drive around sacred sites towards Kantju Gorge where we envisage the highest waterfall in Central Australia, (truly a spectacle to behold, even more so when raining) an elders' cave, and the world's oldest pantry. ย After exploring the world's most impressive rock up close and personal, we retreat for panoramic views to witness one of the most incredible sunsets on the planet, all whilst having dinner cooked for you, to feed those hungry eyes.       Highlights: Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Hike the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge The Olgas- Kata Tjuta Spectacular Sunrise at Uluru It's an early rise and light breakfast as we head off for a spectacular sunrise in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. You thought Uluru was special and just when you think it couldnโ€™t get any more majestic we approach the stunning silhouette of Kata Tjuta. ย Here we set off on a hike through the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge marveling at the mighty conglomerate rock formations. After exploring Kata Tjuta we make our way towards Kings Canyon region just in time to experience a glorious outback sunset followed by a hearty meal around the campfire. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accom: Kings Canyon Campground Basic Swags (communal campsite facilities). Driving Distance: 406 km ย (4.5 Hours).       Highlights: Outback Scenery - Travel through the remote central Australian countryside from Kings Canyon on route back to your final destination in Yulara.ย  Kings Canyon Watarrka National Park - Engage in guided walks and learn about the flora, fauna and geology of this very special place. Conclude your journey in either Yulara/Uluru for your onward travels. We head off early to explore the mighty Kings Canyon (Watarrka) venturing into the ancient landscape and sacred grounds of the Ulpanyali and Lilla people. Arriving at the jewel in the crown at the centre of Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) we find ourselves surrounded by towering 100-meter cliff faces, views of sandstone chasms, and jaw-dropping backdrops that will make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. Grab your water, hat, and sturdy shoes as we set off on foot to explore (the most seasonally applicable part of) the canyon in more detail. After a well-earned rest, you can now enjoy some downtime as the bus meanders its way to your final destination. This evening you are welcome to conclude your exploration in Yulara - your journey will be seamless whichever option you choose. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch. Driving Distance: 250km (2.5 hours).
