Next, we'll head to the historic colonial city of San Cristóbal de las Casas, situated at 2,300 meters above sea level and founded by Captain Diego de Mazariegos in 1528. This city, boasts a wealth of history and tradition. Upon arrival in San Cristóbal de las Casas, you will check into the hotel of your choice and have the rest of the day to independently explore and discover the charming city. Overnight at the hotel, ready to continue your journey the next day. Remember when your arrival to Tuxtla Gutierrez must be before 1:00 pm. otherwise, additional charge will apply to the price.

      This journey to the Indigenous communities of the Tzotzil ethnic group is a unique opportunity to broaden your horizons. Your first stop will be Chamula, where you'll learn and understand the fusion of contemporary traditions and ancient Maya features that define this place. Then, you'll visit Zinacantán, observe its church, and spend time with a local family where you'll be welcomed with a traditional drink and if you're lucky, you'll be invited to try hand-made tortillas. At the end of the day, you'll return to San Cristobal de Las Casas and take a city tour of this beautiful city, with the rest of the day free to explore on your own. Accommodation is included.

You will be transported to your hotel in the city of Palenque for your overnight stay and get ready for you to catch your flight to Merida the next day (airline tickets not included).
