First, we arrive in Chamula, where we’ll have the chance to immerse ourselves in a world of unique traditions and culture. We’ll learn about the fusion of contemporary and ancestral Mayan traditions that make this place so special. Then, we head to Zinacantán where we’ll visit the church and the home of a family cooperative. There, we’ll be welcomed with a regional drink and have the opportunity to see how the women weave on the pre-Columbian waist looms. After viewing their handiwork, we’ll be invited into their kitchen where, with a little luck, we’ll have the chance to taste their delicious handmade tortillas. After our visit, we return to San Cristóbal de Las Casas and explore on a city tour. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy this richly historical and cultural city.
