  • Day 1 La Quiaca - Villazón - Tupiza

      La Quiaca - Villazón - Tupiza

      We’ll meet a 8am to take a transfer from La Quiaca to the border in Villazón. Departure in a private 4x4 vehicle for a 90 km trip to the small mining town of Tupiza. The city was founded around 1535 by the troops of the conqueror Diego de Almagro as a supply center for their goal of reaching the coastal region of Chile.

      The small city is today a mining center with mines of silver, copper, tin, zinc and antimony, among others, and its landscapes of reddish mountains cut by erosion spectacularly surround the city located in a green valley.

  • Day 2 Tupiza - Salar De Uyuni
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Tupiza - Salar De Uyuni

      Early in the morning transfer by paved road Tupiza - Atocha - Uyuni.

      Arrival and transfer to Colchani to visit a small family salt industry. Crossing through the salt desert towards Incahuasi Island. Hike along the Giant Cactus trail to the top of the island for a circular view of the Salar.

      Later return to the edge of the desert to observe a superlative sunset. Continue to Uyuni. Free afternoon. Accommodation.

      IMPORTANT NOTE :

      If the salt desert were covered with water during the months of January to May, the route changes as follows for safety reasons:

      Crossing 12 km over the desert covered with water (approximately one hour at low speed) to the old Hotel de Sal Playa Blanca. Free time for surreal photos of the salt desert transformed into a gigantic cosmic mirror.

      Return by the same route to the edge of the desert for sunset.

  • Day 3 Uyuni - Potosí

      Uyuni - Potosí

      Departure for a 250 km trip (4 hours, only with a Spanish-speaking driver) to the city of Potosí. Beautiful panoramic tour of the region of the great tin and silver mines, with a stop at the old Pulacayo silver mine that in the early 20th century had its own railway line to take the ore to the Pacific coast. Continuation by the small oasis towns of Ticatica, Visicia, Chaquilla. Arrival around noon to Potosí. In the afternoon, visit the colonial city and its main historical monuments. Walking tour around the main square with the Jesuit Tower and the Casa de la Moneda museum. (Museo Casa de la Moneda closes Monday and Sunday afternoon). Free afternoon. Accommodation.

  • Day 4 Potosí - Sucre
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Potosí - Sucre

      Departure for a transfer of 170 km to the city of Sucre (with a Spanish-speaking driver only), crossing the highlands and descending to the temperate valleys of the Chuquisaca region. Along the way, stops will be made to admire an old suspension bridge, an admirable medieval-style construction over the Pilcomayo River. Arriving at the end of the morning in Sucre, the White City remains the constitutional capital of Bolivia, SUCRE. In the afternoon, visit of the city of Sucre with the Mirador de la Recoleta, ASUR Foundation Museum, San Felipe de Neri, Plaza de Armas and Casa de la Independencia (museum closes Monday and Sunday afternoon). Accommodation.

  • Day 5 Sucre - La Paz

      Sucre - La Paz

      Breakfast. Airport transfer. Reception at the airport in La Paz and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free.

  • Day 6 City Tour

      City Tour

      Explore the city’s many fine museums or its historic structures, like the Iglesia de San Francisco. The city is also renowned for its many markets, including the Mercado de Hechicería (Witches’ Market). With streets lined with market stalls and vendors, the pace on the street and the vibrant atmosphere is an incredible experience. To the south of the city is the Valley of the Moon, with crater-like formations made of sand. Thrill seekers can pre book a Death Road mountain biking adventure. Accommodation.

  • Day 7 Titicaca Lake

      Titicaca Lake

      Transfer to Copacabana. Lake Titicaca Tour and return to La Paz. Accommodation.
