      Murchison Falls National Park

      Murchison Falls National Park is a protected area located in northwestern Uganda, covering an area of 3,840 square kilometers. It is named after the dramatic Murchison Falls, which is where the mighty Nile River is forced through a narrow gorge, creating a powerful waterfall.


      The park is known for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, and various species of primates, such as chimpanzees and baboons. Visitors can enjoy game drives, boat safaris, and nature walks to spot these animals in their natural habitats.


      In addition to its wildlife, Murchison Falls National Park is also home to several scenic attractions, such as the delta where the Nile meets Lake Albert, the Budongo Forest Reserve, and the Rabongo Forest, which is known for its birdwatching opportunities.


      After the game drive, you will have lunch before the afternoon boat cruise which is also a very special activity, it takes approximately 2 hours and goes along the Victoria Nile to the base of the Falls. Carefully watched by crocodiles, hundreds of hippos, buffaloes, water birds, monkeys and all the other (also thirsty) wildlife that the Nile attracts as you go to the bottom of the powerful Murchison Falls. If you like hiking, the boat can drop you near the waterfalls and you can hike up to the top (the hike is roughly an hour). The view is stunning and quite amazing here as you will have the whole look of the waterfall. You will later return to your lodge for dinner and sleepover.

      Chimpanzee Trekking In Kibale National Park

      Drive to Kibale National Park in the morning for a chimpanzee trekking experience. Observe the man’s closest relatives in the wild and watch them as they play, swing on tree branches and fight for food. 

      Kibale forest has over 1450 chimpanzees and the habituated group has over 120 individuals that are fully habituated. The trekking can last for 2 to 4 hours depending on how close the chimps are. You can spend up to one hour with the chimpanzees. 

      Kibale National Park is a protected area located in western Uganda, covering an area of approximately 795 square kilometers. The park is known for its diverse range of primates, including the chimpanzees, red colobus monkeys, and the L’Hoest’s monkeys, among others. Additionally, the park boasts of a unique bird population, with over 375 species recorded within its borders. Kibale National Park is also home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including trees, butterflies, and mammals. The park is a popular destination for tourists seeking to experience the beauty of nature and connect with Uganda’s wildlife.

      Optionally, you can drive to one of Uganda’s hidden national park Semuliki Wildlife Reserve for a nature walk. The park is known for harboring a number of bird species which makes it a top birding destination. The nature walk will conclude with a visit to the famous Sempaya hot springs, where you can take a dip in the warm mineral waters before returning to the lodge. This is a great way to experience the natural beauty and biodiversity of Semuliki Wildlife Reserve up close.

      Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the most popular national parks in Uganda, covering an area of approximately 1,978 square kilometers. The park is located in the western part of the country and is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, hippos, crocodiles, and various species of antelopes. It also boasts of over 600 bird species, making it a bird watcher’s paradise. You can enjoy game drives, boat safaris, and nature walks to experience the park’s beauty and wildlife. Queen Elizabeth National Park is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring Uganda’s natural wonders. This park is the most popular savanna park in Uganda and is ideal for viewing the Tree Climbing lions which are only found in this park. 


      Additionally you will take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a wide, 32-kilometer long natural channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George, and is a dominant feature of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The channel attracts a varied range of animals and birds, with one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippos and numerous Nile crocodiles. At a lucky moment, some animals will be found drinking water, taking a bath or even hunting.


      During your stay in Queen Elizabeth, you can also enjoy a hike in the Kyambura gorge, another gem in the far eastern corner of the National Park. This gorge is also called the “Valley of Apes’’ and is another world on its own. Drained by River Kyambura it now has a rich wildlife biodiversity, including a family of 16 chimpanzees and many bird species.


      The view from the top is very impressive as you look down a gorge filled with lush green tropical vegetation amidst an impressive valley. A hike through the gorge gives you the opportunity to see chimpanzees and other types of primates including red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus, baboons and vervet monkeys. This green-riverine forest also offers shelter to several forest birds. Although the chance of spotting chimpanzees is not as high as on an official trekking in Kibale or Budongo forest, this landscape is among the most impressive in Uganda and absolutely worth visiting.


      Accommodation: Elephant Plains Safari Lodge


      Elephant Plains is a brand new luxury lodge located on the most spectacular view point in the whole of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Perched 941 metres above sea level, high upon the western escarpment of the Albertine rift in the north east of the park, the lodge offers panoramic views stretching for miles over the huge open grasslands to lake George. Set in 80 acres of pristine wilderness, a short drive to the park gate, nowhere else here can you sleep closer to the equator. Nestled next to beautiful lake Kikorongo this is where the open plains merge into the crystal waters and seeing large numbers of Elephants coming to drink from the water, hence the lodge’s name.

      Big days ahead. You will finally meet the magnificent mountain gorillas.


      Breakfast is served before you transfer to the infamous Bwindi forest, where you will gather with a tiny group of like minded adventurers, for a briefing before your unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in Uganda starts. 


      Bring a packed lunch, hiking shoes, a camera, a raincoat, and your camera to the park headquarters. Once your ranger guide has briefed you, you will begin trekking the mountain gorillas through the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda, which typically takes a couple of hours depending on the location of the mountain gorillas.


      You will spend one full hour observing these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will put a smile on your face for the rest of the tour.


      After the gorilla trekking, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Green and lush terraced hills surround the lake, punctuated by a variety of over 200 bird species. Birds of migratory origin as well as water birds live at the park. Bird enthusiasts will find it an ideal place to watch birds. The Nyombi swamp is home to a variety of assorted birds.
