The adventure begins in Tokyo. Transfer from the airport to the hotel is not included, however it is easy to get there on your own by train. On day 1 of the itinerary you can find instructions to get to the hotel. However, all your activities, accommodation, transportation, and some meals are included, so you'll only need money for additional meals, drinks, shopping, and any subsequent travel. We recommend that you bring at least $600/$1000 usd to spend. It is best to carry a Visa or Master Card debit, credit or travel card. ATMs are available throughout Japan, so it's easy to access cash. In some cities card payments are not accepted, so we recommend that you carry cash.

Day 1 is exclusive for arrival and transfer is not included, however we recommend arriving during the day for transfer to the hostel. Check-in is available from 3pm.

The adventure ends in Kyoto, the last day is free to facilitate your return, check-out is at 12pm. The closest airport to Kyoto is Osaka (Kansai) and it takes 1.5-2 hours to get there by bullet train, which costs $50 Australian dollars / £25. If you plan your return at the end of the adventure, we recommend flying from Osaka to Tokyo. If you need to return to Tokyo, since your flight leaves from there, it will take you 4 hours to get there by bullet train. The guide can help you with this in Japan and pay for it at the time of the trip.

You need an average physical condition, since you will not do activities that are too physically demanding. In Nagano you will walk for around 3 hours, it is not very demanding so it requires average physical condition.

We always recommend backpacking and packing light! 10-20kgs of stuff should be enough. We will mainly use trains for transportation, so lugging a huge suitcase is not very comfortable. Depending on your travel plans going forward, there is luggage storage at airports or in some accommodations, if necessary. Some hotels offer luggage shipping service between cities. The clothes will depend on the season in which you travel, Japan has very distinct seasons and seasons.
