Day 1: Arrival and discover the first villages
A transfer will take you to Ferraria Sรฃo Joรฃo, your first schist village, right in the centre of Portugal to Vale do Ninho Nature Houses. Full tour biefing, followed by a short transfer and a walking loop in Casal Sรฃo Simรฃo. Relax at Fragas river beach and/or visit the village. Transfer to back. Dinner and overnight at Vale do Ninho Nature Houses.
Day 2: Goat Cheese Workshop
ย Start the day with a Fresh Goat Cheese making workshop where you will milk the goats with a local shepherdess and learn all the manual process to produce the local cheese that you can taste later in the day. In the meantime, do a walking loop starting at your house door. Dinner and overnight at Vale do Ninho Nature Houses.(7km; -547m +238m, 3 hours with extra 1 hour option)
Day 3: Ferraria Schist Village to Grandamaz
The walking is from Ferraria to Gondramaz passing by Louรงainha Fluvial Beach mid-way where you can swim or have a snack at the local restaurant. There is a good chance to see some wild deer on the ascent to the mountain ridge while having a top view over your destination village, Gondramaz. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Whisper Houses.(20km; +850m -900m; optional shorter option with 5 min transfer)
Day 4: The Lousรฃ Mountain
The trail is between Gondramaz and Talasnal village. This trail is shady and marked by the entrance in the typical forest of the Lousรฃ Mountain core area. In the end of the walk you will find Talasnal, one of the most famous schist villages. Transfer back; dinner and overnight at Mountain Whisper Houses.(11,5km; +705m -828m)ย
Day 5: The highest point of Lousรฃย
After a transfer to Talasnal where you will start walking towards Cerdeira village by a single track cutting the slope of the mountain and passing by typical villagesย including Candal. Ater Cerdeira, the highest point of Lousรฃ Mountain (1241m). Dinner and overnight at Cerdeira Village.(10km; +970m -739m)
Day 6: Schist miniatures houses and cooking workshop
Cerdeira is an artistic village, where artists stay for periods, to create and inspire themselves. It is a magical place, fully integrated with nature, where wood, stone and pottery craft work is done. In here you will have aย Schist House Miniatures workshop. Free afternoon. At night you have a cookery lesson. Overnight at Cerdeira Village.
Day 7: Last Day at Lousรฃ
Walk from Cerdeira down to Lousรฃ Castle by the levada (waterway) and find Senhora da Piedade fluvial beach. Transfer to Coimbra and overnight at Sapientia Boutique Hotel.(7Km; +280m -686m)
Day 8:ย Coimbra
Enjoy a free day to visit Coimbra UNESCO heritage sites, the university with more than 700 years old. We will transfers you to the airport.
