      ยญToday marks the commencement of our trek, and weโ€™re embarking on an exhilarating journey towards Gatlang. After approximately an hour and a half of ascending from Syabrubesi, we reach a vantage point that offers a breathtaking panorama of Ganesh Himal, the Gosaikunda range, and the Goljang valley. Following this mesmerizing view, we descend to Goljang valley for a relaxing lunch, a one-hour downhill walk.

      Our next destination is the charming Gatlang Tamang village, which is approximately a 3-hour walk from Goljang. Upon reaching Gatlang, guests will receive a warm welcome adorned with Khada (white scarves) and homemade local Rakshi. The greeting is accompanied by a traditional welcome song in the local language. After a refreshing break, take a stroll around the village and witness the vibrant Syabru dance. As the day unfolds, settle in at the community lodge for an overnight stay.

Our trek kicks off with a descent to Thangbuchet, situated near Chilime village, along the Bhotekoshi River. It is likely that we will reach the summit in time for lunch, providing an opportunity to appreciate the scenic Chilime Hydropower dam and the serene lake it forms.


      Following lunch, the trail ascends, involving a crossing of a hanging bridge, and persists until reaching Tatopani, translating to โ€™hot water.โ€™ Here, nestled in the mountainโ€™s embrace, you can indulge in the natural hot springs bathing areas, believed by locals to possess healing qualities that alleviate aches and pains. Our overnight stay is arranged at a local tea house, allowing you to relish the tranquility of the surroundings.

      ยญFollowing breakfast, the path leads upwards to Nagthali Danda (at an altitude of 3300m), an expansive open grassland offering breathtaking vistas of the snow-covered Himalayas. Reaching the summit, we pause for lunch at Brimdang village, and then the trek resumes with a continued ascent to Nagthali Danda. Here, amidst the splendid views, we take in the scenery and spend some time at the peak, savoring tea prepared by the Gompa caretaker.


      Our descent leads us to Thuman, characterized by Tibetan-influenced Tamang villages whose inhabitants are known for their friendliness, love for singing, and dancing. A warm overnight stay awaits us at a local tea house, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the unique charm of the surroundings.

      Todayโ€™s trek commences with a gentle start, traversing a flat terrain initially and descending towards Timure along the old trade route to Tibet. A break for lunch awaits us in Timure, a picturesque spot situated on the bank of the river and just a 3-hour walk from the renowned Rasuwaghadi, marking the Nepal-Tibet border.


      Following our midday meal, the trail extends to Briddim, another Tibetan-influenced Tamang village, where a distinctive homestay experience awaits. Accommodations, meals, and lodgings are provided in the homes of individual families on a rotating basis. Each host family offers a clean bed, toilet facilities, and a shared family dining room.

      In the evening, visitors have the opportunity to engage with the host family, experiencing life with them, enjoying traditional foods, and sleeping in well-kept beds. Local delicacies such as plain rice, Tibetan bread, Syakpa (Sherpa Stew), potatoes, Tibetan tea, and Briddim wine are among the indigenous foods served. Moreover, guests get a unique chance to observe local rituals, cultural practices, lifestyles, and traditions, as well as customs of the community. The evening culminates in a gathering of locals donning traditional costumes, presenting cultural songs and dances to warmly welcome the visitors. The host family acts as guides, offering insights into the villageโ€™s distinctive features and showcasing live craftsmanship.

      Todayโ€™s trek involves a journey from Briddim to Syabrubesi, passing through cultural villages along the way. The walk typically takes around 4 to 5 hours. The route traverses the small village of Syarpagaon, then continues through Bhanjyanggaon and Khangjung before descending back to Syabrubesi. Itโ€™s worth noting that this path was the main route to Langtang before the construction of the new trail, which we took on our way up, reducing the total trekking time to approximately 6 hours.

      Prepare to be in the hotel lobby by 6:00 in the morning for breakfast or to address any queries with your trekking guide. The return journey to Kathmandu will follow a scenic route, winding through terraces, streams, rivers, local settlements, and elevated hills alongside the Trishuli river. The travel time to your Kathmandu hotel is approximately 7 to 8 hours, depending on conditions, and will be facilitated by either bus or private car.
