Our 8-Day Cusco and Machu Picchu “Southern Treasures” starts with your arrival to the City of Cusco, where an Inca Machu Picchu Tours member will be there to greet you and take you to our partner lodge, located in the charming historic neighborhood of San Blas. The lodge is centrally located and only a few minutes walk from the Main Square “Plaza de Armas”, the beautiful and bustling town center. This day will be reserved for resting and acclimatizing to the altitude, approximately 3400 meters (11,000 feet).
Day 2 Sacred Valley All The Incas

Sacred Valley All The Incas

Sacred Valley is a breathtaking option to travel from Cusco to Machu Picchu, delighting amazing places.

Continuing this Breathtaking 5 day Machu Picchu package, today you check out the Cusco hotel and store the big suitcases (carry just necessary things). In the morning the tour leader will pick you up from the hotel and take you The Sacred Valley tour. After 30 minutes of driving, you stop in an interesting place called Awanacancha. As a result, you delight the Andean camels, Alpacas, Llamas, Vicuñas, and Huanacos. Following the journey after 10 minutes driving, you have a short stop to get a wonderful view of all the Sacred Valley.

Subsequently, you arrive at the first archeological Inca Place Called Pisac where you visit the most important sectors with the tour leader. Afterward, the transport will take you through all the Sacred Valley until you arrive at Urubambamba town, where is the Buffet Inca lunch. You will delight Stunning Quinua, Corn farmlands.

Day 3 Machu Picchu Tour

Today pickyou up early in the morning after breakfast from the hotel. You and the tour leader will take the transport, called CONSETUR, toward Machu Picchu Inca city. After 30 minutes finally, you arrive at one of the new seven wonders in the world. It is important to carry your passport for checking Machu Picchu’s control. Otherwise, you don’t visit Machu Picchu. Unless you book Huaynapicchu or Machu Picchu Mountains included.

The tour leader starts the tour once you feel ready for it. He will show you the most important Inca places, like the Agricultural sector, the quarry, the temple of the sun, the temple of the window, the sundial, etc. After the tour, you will have the chance to explore the last part of Machu Picchu on your own unless you decided to leave Machu Picchu. Before the tour leader leaves you in Machu Picchu, he will recommend to you how to get the bus and train.

In the afternoon you have the chance to have lunch in this town and don’t forget to be 30 minutes before at the Train Station, according to the train ticket. In the afternoon you board the train to come back to Ollantaytambo town, subsequently, our representative will assist you and bring you to Cusco city.

Following out tour, in the morning 08 am approx, after a good breakfast in the hotel, our transport, and the tour leader will take you toward these stunning places, not without visiting before Chinchero town, where you delight a nice show about the process of textiles, using traditional tools.

Afterward, you continue delighting stunning landscapes until you arrive Moray, circular terraces built inside of a big hole at the ground. Moray comes from the word Muyu, which means Circular, likewise, it was working as an important Inca Laboratory.

Continuing the journey through the Peru Andes, you visit the natural Salt mines of Maras located above the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Maras salt mines is a salty spring that feeds thousands of small pools. The process to get salt here is Amazing.

Finally, the transport will drop you toward Cusco City. You will have the free afternoon to walk in Cusco city.

Day 6 Departure To Puno (Route Of The Sun)

Departure To Puno (Route Of The Sun)

In the morning we will depart from the bus terminal and head towards Puno. This is a special journey by bus which allows us to visit the many diverse locations along the way on the route of the sun. There will be planned stops to visit the following:

Andahuaylillas (Also known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas): This temple is one of the best examples of the fusion between Catholic and Andean religions.

Raqchi: A Inka temple dedicated to the God Wiracocha, construction of monumental dimensions, an estimated 100 meters long, 26m wide, 14m high. This is the only known temple dedicated to the God Wiracocha, creator of the Universe.

La Raya: Midway point on our journey and the highest point on the road – 4335 m.s.n.m. The impressive views here allow us to admire the rugged high altitude, full of tall peaks, many of which are snow-capped, and we will observe herds of llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas. This is the geographic border between two cultures, the Quechua of Cusco and the Aymara of Puno.

Pucara: This ceremonial center is one of the oldest and most important of the high plains, well known for its lithic structures and tombs.
Day 7 Uros (Floating Islands) – Taquile Island

Uros (Floating Islands) – Taquile Island

Between 7:40 am and 8 am we will transfer you from the hotel to the port and by motorboat, we take you to one of the legendary Uros Islands where you can observe the lives of the Uros people who live on floating reed islands, some only 20 meters in length. The islanders will give us a presentation on their lifestyle on these islands made by the hand of man, built with totora reeds that grow on the shores of the lake. We will learn about their existence on these small islands and how they have adapted to these conditions.

After a beautiful 2hr and half boat ride we reach Taquile Island. The people of Taquile are very cooperative and well organized. It is the reason that the Taquileños have demonstrated their high degree of advancement in the Textileria “textiles”, receiving its award by the UNESCO. It should be noted that spinning and weaving are mainly done by men, starting at the age of eight years. Women only make yarns and fabrics. Life in Taquile is still largely unchanged by modernity. The visit will be an average of 2 hours, and 1 hour you will have to taste a delicious typical lunch.

Finally, we will continue to make our way towards the city of Puno, arriving at 17:00 hours.
