      Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, travel to the temple of Ta Prohm. Ta Prohm is unlike any other temple in the world โ€“ itโ€™s made up of a complex of towering temples and narrow alleyways, many of which are entirely covered by thick vines. After your visit, continue to Opportunities of Development thru Art (ODA) for an Insider Experience, and then back to your hotel.

      This morning is free to explore. Later, discover the remains of Angkor Archaeological Park, one of Cambodiaโ€™s most iconic sites, and a long-standing tribute to the ancient Khmer Empire. Visit the 12th-century temple Bayon where carved rock faces stand tall. Finish the day with sunset at Angkor Wat. After sunset, youโ€™re free to spend the evening as you please, perhaps visit the local restaurants for a bite to eat.

      Explore the Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, which recalls one of the darkest moments of the 20th century. While here, youโ€™ll learn about the Khmer Rouge regime and visit some of the historic sites linked to the events of the genocide. Following a sobering morning exploration, this afternoon take a tour to the Royal Palace. See the Silver Pagoda located within the Royal Palace complex and admire the striking Emerald Buddha carved from baccarat crystal. After dinner, perhaps step out for an evening walk around the capital, or remain on board with a good book and relaxing cup of tea to tie off the evening.

      Spend today on board as your ship cruises to the Vietnamese border. This afternoon, you might like to attend a fruit-carving demonstration by the shipโ€™s chef while border formalities are carried out and you cross into Vietnam. Fruit carving is a common addition to many Vietnamese dishes, and the skilful chefs manage the challenging practice with ease. Tonight, maybe youโ€™ll enjoy watching an interesting documentary film about Pol Pot as your ship cruises towards the small Vietnamese town of Tan Chau.

      After breakfast, transfer to a small boat and travel along the Mekongโ€™s tiny tributaries, observing the stilt house villages. Go ashore for a tour of Tan Chau by rickshaw.       Today youโ€™ll enjoy a day trip to Nara, a picturesque city with charming narrow streets and an abundance of impressive temples. See the beautiful Todai-ji Temple, the largest wooden building in the world and its Great Buddha and Nigatsu-do Shrine. Founded in 745 by Emperor Shomu, Todai-ji is a vast Buddhist temple complex that was constructed as a symbol of imperial power. Its famous Buddha towers overhead at 15 metres tall and is the largest Buddha statue in Japan. Later itโ€™s time for a stroll through Naraโ€™s famous Deer Park, home to over 1,200 wild deer who freely roam the park, grazing on the spacious lawns.
