The safety of our guests and staff is a top priority and we are monitoring the evolving Coronavirus/COVID-19 situation closely. All of our guides are fully vaccinated to protect their safety and the safety of all visitors. We are taking recommended prevention and response measures, including: Our Tour Guides will be wearing a mask throughout the duration of the tour and wearing gloves when sanitizing, taking temperatures, opening/closing doors, and providing sanitizer to guests. Guides will take their temperatures frequently to monitor for fever and will not work if they are sick. After an illness, a guide can return to work after receiving a negative test for COVID-19 or having no fever for 14 days. Before leaving our dispatch, each Tour Guide will ensure that all surfaces in the vehicle are properly sanitized and wiped down. Prior to any guest entering the vehicle at their pickup location our Tour Guide will use a non-contact thermometer to ensure that anyone with a fever or anyone travelling with others who have a fever (temperature must be less than 100.4ยบF (38.0ยบC)) do not enter the vehicle. The front seat will be off-limits to guests. In the event that a guest jeopardizes the health and safety of another guest, a guide, or a partner employee or customer (e.g. refuses to wear a mask, refuses to abide by social distancing guidelines, etc.), they will be removed from the tour, and no refund will be issued. During the excursion our Tour Guides will be the only individuals to open and close the doors of the vehicle. Guests will wear a mask for the duration of the tour, except in locations where masks are not required. Guests are required to supply their own masks. Guests without masks will not be allowed to take the tour and no refund will be given. Guests under the age of 5 or who are medically compromised will not be required to wear a mask per CDC guidelines. Children ages 5 and over are required to wear a face covering. Guests will refrain from physical contact with our guide, other guests not in their party, partner staff, or other patrons while maintaining 6-foot social distancing guidelines. At each stop when guests exit the vehicle our Tour Guide will use sanitary wipes to disinfect commonly touched areas inside the vehicle. Upon getting back into the vehicle our Tour Guide will provide hand sanitizer or wipes for each customer. At the end of each tour all surfaces inside the vehicle will be sanitized and wiped down. We will limit the number of guests on our tours to 8 people. We are expanding our communications about our refund policy to ensure anyone who is not feeling well will receive a full refund for the tour if cancelled. Our leadership team will continue to actively monitor the recommendations from the CDC, WHO, and OHA and implement best-practices accordingly. When you place your reservation we collect your name, email address, phone number, and home address so that if we receive notification that a guest has tested positive for COVID-19 we can contact all other guests that were on that tour. As always, we will communicate clearly and directly about our plans and activities to continue to offer our tours in the safest possible environment.

      Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a Peregrine Treks representative holding a designated signboard outside the terminal. Our representative will then escort you to your hotel in a private, comfortable vehicle dedicated to our guests.

  • Day 2 Flight To Lukla (2800M); And Trek To Phakding

      Our journey begins with a thrilling flight to the mountain airstrip of Lukla, perched at 2,800 meters above sea level. From here, we embark on our first trek, heading northwards along the Dudh Kosi, a glacial river aptly named the "milk river" for its milky-white waters. Weโ€™ll descend from the small plateau into a verdant forested valley, the trail offering glimpses of the stunning scenery that lies ahead. Our destination for the night is the quaint settlement of Phakding (2,652m), where weโ€™ll rest and prepare for the adventures to come.

      Our journey continues along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, a path that weaves through picturesque landscapes and leads us across thrilling suspension bridges adorned with vibrant prayer flags. Each crossing offers a unique perspective of the majestic river below.


      As we enter the revered Sagamartha National Park, the trail ascends steeply, rewarding our efforts with breathtaking vistas that unfold with every step. The air grows thinner, but the scenery becomes even more awe-inspiring.


      Our destination is Namche Bazaar, a bustling Sherpa town often referred to as the "Gateway to Everest." Here, weโ€™ll find a haven of modern amenities amidst the rugged terrain. Namche Bazaar boasts a variety of quality restaurants, hotels, and lodges, catering to the needs of trekkers from around the world. Youโ€™ll have the opportunity to explore its shops, exchange currency, access the internet, and indulge in freshly baked goods from the local bakeries. This vibrant town serves as a central hub along the Everest trail, offering a welcome respite and a taste of local culture before we continue our ascent.

      A well-deserved rest day in Namche Bazaar allows us to acclimatize to the higher altitude and adjust to the thinner air, ensuring a safe and enjoyable trek ahead. Weโ€™ll take advantage of this time to explore the rich Sherpa culture that defines this region.


      Our first stop will be the local museum, a treasure trove of artifacts and exhibits that showcase the traditional customs and heritage of the Sherpa people. Weโ€™ll delve into their unique way of life, their deep connection to the mountains, and their remarkable mountaineering history.


      In the afternoon, weโ€™ll embark on a scenic hike up to Syangboche Airport, renowned for its dramatic mountainside location. From there, weโ€™ll continue our ascent to the Everest View Hotel, a remarkable establishment perched at one of the highest points in the world. As we relax and enjoy refreshments at the hotel, weโ€™ll be rewarded with awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Himalayas, including the iconic peak of Mount Everest.


      This acclimatization day not only prepares us for the challenges ahead but also provides a deeper understanding of the Sherpa culture and an unforgettable glimpse of the majestic Himalayan range.

      Our journey presses onward, following the path alongside the Dudh Kosiโ€™s rushing glacial waters. With each step, the surrounding mountains reveal their grandeur, their peaks reaching towards the heavens. As we ascend, the air grows thinner, yet our spirits remain high.


      Our destination today is Tengboche, a spiritual haven nestled at an elevation of 3,860 meters. Here, weโ€™ll find the renowned Tengboche Monastery, a beacon of Tibetan Buddhism in the Himalayas. The monasteryโ€™s interior is a masterpiece of artistry and devotion, adorned with intricate wall hangings, a majestic 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and sacred musical instruments and robes of the Lamas.


      Depending on the pace of our trek, weโ€™ll have the privilege of witnessing a mesmerizing prayer ceremony at the monastery. Whether it takes place in the tranquil evening or the serene morning light, this immersive experience will offer a unique glimpse into the rich spiritual traditions of the Sherpa people.

      Leaving the spiritual haven of Tengboche behind, the trail descends towards Debuche, where we cross another exhilarating suspension bridge over the Imja Khola river. The rhythmic sway of the bridge and the vibrant prayer flags that adorn it add an element of excitement to our journey.


      From Debuche, the path ascends again, winding through a landscape dotted with thousands of mani stones, each etched with prayers and mantras. Weโ€™ll pass by these sacred markers as we make our way to Pangboche, a traditional Sherpa village known for its warm hospitality and stunning views.


      The ascent continues, but weโ€™ll maintain a steady pace to acclimatize properly to the increasing altitude. Our destination is Dingboche, a picturesque Sherpa village nestled amidst a breathtaking panorama of towering peaks. Here, weโ€™ll be treated to exquisite views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam, some of the most iconic mountains in the Himalayas. The tranquility of Dingboche and its surrounding landscapes will provide a perfect setting for rest and reflection before we continue our journey towards Everest Base Camp.

These memorials serve as a reminder of the challenges and risks inherent in mountaineering, and we pay our respects to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in pursuit of their dreams.


      As we ascend further, the air grows thinner, and some members of the group may experience mild breathing difficulties due to the altitude. Itโ€™s important to listen to our bodies, maintain a steady pace, and stay hydrated.


      Our destination for the day is the village of Lobuche, nestled at the foot of the imposing Lobuche peak. This high-altitude settlement offers basic accommodation and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Despite the challenging conditions, reaching Lobuche is a rewarding accomplishment, as we edge closer to our ultimate goal of Everest Base Camp.

Along the way, we may encounter memorials honoring those who have lost their lives on these slopes, a poignant reminder of the risks and rewards of mountaineering.


      The trail demands respect for the altitude, so weโ€™ll maintain a slow and steady pace to ensure everyoneโ€™s safety and comfort. As we ascend, the anticipation builds, and finally, weโ€™ll reach Everest Base Camp, standing at an elevation of 5,365 meters. This is the closest one can get to the worldโ€™s highest peak without specialized climbing gear.


      The view from Base Camp is nothing short of awe-inspiring. During the spring season, we may even see expedition teams preparing to make their summit attempts. The Khumbu Icefall, a massive, ever-shifting river of ice, dominates the landscape, a testament to the raw power and beauty of nature.


      After taking in the breathtaking scenery and soaking up the atmosphere of this iconic location, weโ€™ll descend back to Gorak Shep for a well-deserved rest and a night under the stars.

Everest, the highest point on Earth, will tower directly before us, its snow-capped peak piercing the sky at a staggering 8,848 meters. Surrounding us, a breathtaking array of Himalayan giants, including Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse, and countless others, will create a 360-degree panorama of unparalleled beauty.
