  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrive In Kathmandu (1,400 M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      Day 1: Arrive In Kathmandu (1,400 M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      You will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and met by one of our representatives who will take you to your hotel in the tourist hub of Kathmandu, Thamel. This will be followed by a short briefing covering all aspects of the trek. With spare time in the afternoon, you can explore the narrow winding streets of Thamel or visit some of Kathmanduโ€™s historic World Heritage-listed places of interest. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Drive From Kathmandu To Dharapani (1960 M) Via Beshisahar (8,23M) 11-12 Hours.

      Today we hit the road and drive to Dharapani where we will stay overnight at a guesthouse.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Trek From Dharapani To Chame (2630 M) 5-6 Hours.

      We have a bit of a hard trek today as we ascend along some treed ridges on the route to Chame.  Looking skyward along the trail and we will see some massive snowy peaks: Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7,525m). There is also a hot natural therapeutic spring on the trail where we can sit back and relax our tired muscles. Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse at Chame.

      Today we walk through a steep and narrow valley where we have our first views of Paungda Danda, a massive curved rock face soaring 1500m up from the river bed. From here we can look up to the colossal Annapurna II and Pisang Peaks. We will then head down to the Manang Valley while enjoying the beautiful landscape. Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse in Pisang.

      The trail today heads higher as we make our way to Ghyaru Village. Along the trail will be fortunate to have some wonderful views of Annapurna II and other snow clad peaks, as well as the glacier of Annapurna IV โ€“ that is plainly visible from Ghyaru. We will stop for a lunch break at Ghyaru and then head on to Ngawal. Looking skyward you will see the imposing Pisang and Annapurna peaks. You will have reached Ngawal village once you see the Mani wall and the fluttering Tibetan prayer flags. At Ngawal we can look down to Humde Village. Next we head to the villages of Bhakra and Braga before arriving at Manang where we will stay in a guesthouse overnight.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Manang โ€“ Acclimatization Day.

      It is strongly recommended by health experts to stay active when spending time acclimatizing. We will take a short trek to Bhojo Gumba โ€“ a monastery or to Gangapurna Lake. We can also trek to Vraga Village where we can visit the Himalayan Rescue Association who will talk to us about the condition of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse in Manang.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Trek From Manang To Yak Kharka (4,110 M) 3-4 Hours.

      After departing Manang we cross the river before arriving at Tenki Village and then we head up the Marsyangdi Valley passing several small villages, such as Ghunsa, and pass through some scrubby terrain, all the while heading to higher altitudes. We will also see yak and mountain horses grazing on the alpine pastures before coming to Yak Kharka where we will stay overnight at a guesthouse.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Trek From Yak Kharka To Thorong Phedi (4,600 M) 3-4 Hours.

      Today the trekking will take your breath away as it is nearly all uphill to Thorong Phedi. We first cross a suspension bridge and will later reach Ledar Village. Once again we climb higher below the cliffs until we arrive at Thorong Phedi, the last village before Thorong La Pass. From this altitude, we have some fabulous views of several high peaks: Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, Thorong Peak and Mt. Khatungkang. Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse at Thorong Phedi. 

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek From Thorong Phedi To Muktinath (3,800 M) Via Thorong La Pass (5,416M) 8-9 Hours.

      Today is an exciting one as we cross one of the highest passes in the world, Thorong La Pass. We cross from east to west, from Manang to Muktinath, which is said to be safer and easier than crossing from the other direction. To reach the pass early in the day and avoid the high winds that develop later in the morning we have to get up around 3 a.m. Once at the pass the effort will be rewarded with some really great views over the nearby mountains. After taking some photos we will then descend to the valley floor and continue on to Muktinath for the night.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Drive From Muktinath To Pokhara (9,00M) 8-9 Hours.

      Today we drive through the kali Gandaki Gorge, jammed between two massive mountain ranges, Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri. Once back at Pokhara our staff will take you to your hotel where you can rest or stroll around Phewa Tal (lake), or maybe walk along the lakeside and enjoy a cold drink or coffee at one of the many cafes while watching the sunset over the far-off mountains. We will stay at a hotel near Lakeside tonight.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Drive From Pokhara To Kathmandu (1,350M) 6-7 Hours.

      Today we head back to Kathmandu. You can look back on this classic trek and congratulate yourself on enduring some hard long days on the trail.

      Three hours before your booked flight a representative fromSherpa Expedition Teams will take you to the airport.
