      A guide will meet you at the airport and take you to our hotel. The remainder of the day you will be able to familiarize yourself with the shopping area near your hotel in Thamel. This evening your guide will give you a brief introduction and provide information concerning the trek.

      Today, we have set aside to complete the necessary paperwork required before heading into the Mustang region. This is your opportunity to ask questions before returning to your hotel.

      This morning we head toward Pokhara Valley and its stunning Phewa Tal (lake). On arrival, we will check in to our hotel close to Phewa Tal. There is plenty to see and do along Lakeside with its many shops, bars, and restaurants to choose from. Sitting by the lake at sunset is a great way to end the day.

  • Day 4 Day 4: From Pokhara Fly To Jomsom (2700M) & Trek To Kagbeni (2800M) Duration 3-4 Hours.

      Today we take a 25 to 30-minute flight from Pokhara to Jomson with views of the well-known Kali Gandaki Gorge (worldโ€™s deepest), along with views of several gigantic peaksโ€ Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Ranges and Machapuchare (Fishtail). From Jomson we begin our trek to Kagbeni, about a 3-4 hour trek. Kagbeni is also the checkpoint where authorities will check your documents/permit before you enter the restricted Upper Mustang region. Along the trail, we will have some awesome views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Tukuche Peak.

      We have an early start today in order to avoid the high winds that commonly increase later in the day. In the early morning light, we can see Nilgiri that is orange in color due to the sunโ€™s reflection of it. We follow the east bank of the Kali Gandaki River until we enter the broad Chhusang Valley. Leaving Kagbeni we ascend, providing us with views of the village and Mt Nilgiri (7061m). The trail then heads east towards more barren land common in the Mustang region. We soon reach the first major village of Tangbe with its red and white-washed houses on along the banks of the river and wonderful views over the Kali Gandaki River. Sitting high up the cliffs are caves said to have been home to the early inhabitants of this area. The trail then comes to Chele from where we can see the Himalayan Ranges.

      This morning we climb the rocky hills and eventually arrive at a stone cairn at 3540 meters from where we descend to the tiny village of Samar with its chortens (stupa religiousโ€“ monuments) and other Buddhist structures. Leaving Samar we head down into a large canyon and then once more climb to a 3800 meter ridge. From here we again descend to the remote Shyangmochen Village and then continue to Geling Village.

      The trail today leads up to Nyi La Pass (3932m) and then heads down and follows the Tangmar Chu River with its Mani walls along the trail (stones inscribed with Lamaist prayers). We then continue to Charang Village with its enormous five โ€“storey Dzong (monastery) and red Gompa (monastery) and Thankas (forms of printed colorful artwork).

      Today the trail is generally uphill as we head to Lo-Gekar home of one of the oldest Tibetan monasteries in the world. Lo-Gekar Gompa is older than the famed Samye Gompa in Tibet. After visiting Lo Gekar we travel by horse to Lo-Manthang. The trail leads past the ancient walled city of Lo-Manthang before descending and crossing a stream before arriving at Lo-Manthang.

      Today we spend the day acclimatizing before heading to higher altitudes. Health experts strongly recommend staying active on this day. So, today we will climb to Namgyal Gompa located at the top of a peak and then head to Tingkhar north-west of Lo Manthang, a small village consisting of about 40 houses and then we return to Lo Manthang.

      Today we will follow a trail for six to seven hours until arriving at Yara Village where we will stay the night.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Trek From Yara To Luri Cave Monastery (4005M) Duration 4-5 Hours.

      The Luri Cave Monastery is claimed to be the oldest (15th century) cave monastery in the Mustang region. Today we will follow the trail for about three to four hours until we arrive at Luri Cave Monastery. 

  • Day 12 Day 12: Trek From Luri Cave To Ghuma Thanti (4600M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      Today we trek for about five to six hours and cross a 5100-meter pass before reaching Ghuma Thanti where we set up our campsite for the night.

      Today we trek for around six to seven hours with our first challenge being the 5600 meter pass before coming to Damodar Kunda (lake) from where we continue until we come to Namta Khola where we camp overnight.

      Today we will follow the trail and then climb until we reach base camp where we will set up our tents for the night.

      Today we need to acclimatize before heading higher. In order to stay active (recommended) we will explore the surrounding area in order to improve the acclimatization process. Tonight we will set up our tents here.

      We will get up early and make our way through the snow to Camp 1. Trudging through the snow is more physically exhausting. We will establish our camp here overnight.

      We have an eight to nine hour day ahead of us hence the need to get up very early. This is the day that the adrenalin flows as we slog through the snow to the summit. At the top you will be left breathless โ€“ firstly because of the energy required to get there and secondly because of the remarkable panoramic views. This is a real camera-clicking moment as you look down on the world around you. We will then head back to Base Camp for the night.

      Today we cross the Saribung Pass and head down the trail until we come to Nagoru Village where we will stay overnight.

      Today we head out on a trail across the barren and dry Tibetan plateau and through the valley until we come to Phu Gaon Village. This area is so isolated and is often said to be lost to the outside world. It is home to Gurung, Lama and Ghale people. There is an old Buddhist Monastery, Tashi Lhakhang, which is claimed to be one of the worldโ€™s grandest Buddhist monasteries constructed by the renowned Buddhist sage Karmapa Rinpoche. There are some incredible views of the Himlung Himal and other snow-capped peaks from Phu Gaon. We will camp here overnight.

      Today we have a five to six hour trek across the Tibetan plateau and then head down to Meta Village. Along the trail we pass the ruins of previous Khampa settlements where Tibetan refugees lived after escaping from Tibet. From Meta we have a grand view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. We will camp here overnight.

      This morning we head out on the trail and descend through a pine forest and pass a beautiful cascading waterfall before reaching Koto Village where we stay the night.

      The first village we arrive at today on our five to six-hour trek is Timang where we can see Mt. Manaslu and other snow-covered peaks before we descend to  Danque Village where we will stop for a lunch break before continuing to Dharapani where we will stay overnight.

      Today is the last day of our adventure as we head back to Kathmandu where on arrival you will be taken to your respective hotels.
