      A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free and will allow you to familiarize yourself with the shopping area near your hotel in Thamel and buy anything you may require for the climb. This evening, your guide will give you a brief introduction and provide information in relation to the trek.

      This morning we head by road to Pokhara Valley and its eye-catching Phewa Tal (lake). On arrival we will check in to our hotel near Phewa Tal. There are lots to see and do along Lakeside with its many shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. Sitting by the lake at sunset is a perfect way to end the day before we head off to Jomson tomorrow morning.

      This morning we have a 25 to 30-minute flight from Pokhara to Jomson with views of the well-known Kali Gandaki Gorge (worldโ€™s deepest), and views of several enormous peaksโ€ Mt. Dhaulagiri, the Annapurna Ranges and Machapuchare (Fishtail). From Jomson we follow the trail to Kagbeni, about a 3 to 4-hour trek. There is a checkpoint here where authorities will check your permit before you are allowed to enter the restricted Upper Mustang region. On the trail we will have some breathtaking views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Tukuche Peak.

      It is necessary to be up early today so as to avoid the high winds that usually increase later in the day. In the early morning light Nilgiri is orange in color due to the sun reflecting off it. We will follow the trail along east bank of the Kali Gandaki River until we enter the wide Chhusang Valley. From Kagbeni we head higher and can see the village and Mt Nilgiri (7061m). We then trek east towards more desolate land that is common in the Mustang region. We soon come to the village of Tangbe with its red and white-washed houses situated on the banks of the river and from here will have some great views over the Kali Gandaki River. High up on the cliffs are caves that are said to have been home to the early residents of this area. We then arrive at Chele from where we have views over the Himalayan Ranges.

      Today we climb the rocky hills and then come to a stone cairn at 3540 meters from where we head down to the tiny village of Samar with its chortens, stupa and other Buddhist monuments. From Samar we head down into a big canyon and then once again we climb to a 3800 meter ridge. From here we head down to the remote Shyangmochen Village and then to Geling Village.

      Today we follow the trail up to Nyi La Pass (3932m) and then head down and follow the trail along the Tangmar Chu River with its Mani walls bordering the trail (stones inscribed with Lamaist prayers). We then arrive at Charang Village with its massive five-story Dzong (monastery) and red Gompa (monastery) and brightly colored Thankas (forms of printed colorful artwork).

      Today the trail is mostly uphill as we head to Lo-Gekar which is home to one of the oldest Tibetan monasteries in the world. Lo-Gekar Gompa is older than the renowned Samye Gompa in Tibet. After Lo Gekar we travel by horse to Lo-Manthang. The trail takes us to the ancient walled city of Lo-Manthang before we have to head down and cross a stream before coming to Lo-Manthang.

      Today we spend the time acclimatizing before heading higher. Health experts strongly suggest staying active on this day. Today we will climb to Namgyal Gompa located on a peak and then head to Tingkhar north-west of Lo Manthang, a small village consisting of about 40 houses and then we will head back to Lo Manthang.

      Today we will follow a trail for about six to seven hours until we come to Yara Village where we will stay the night.

      Today we head to the Luri Cave Monastery that is said to be the oldest (15th century) cave monastery in the Mustang region. We will trek for about three to four hours until we come to Luri Cave Monastery.

      Today we trek through the barren valley after crossing the pass at 5100 meters and continue on to Ghuma Thanti.

      We will follow the trail today for around six to seven hours and cross the 5600 meter pass before coming to Damodar Kunda (lake) from where we continue until we arrive at Namta Khola where we camp overnight.

      Today we trek across the Tibetan plateau steadily gaining altitude until we reach Base Camp. We will prepare our lunch in the morning as there is no place on the trail where we can stop to cook.

      This morning we trek to Camp I along a tough snow-covered trail. We will steadily climb gaining altitude. Again we will have prepared lunch before heading out this morning.

      We have an early start this morning and will climb to Saribung summit at 6346m / 20,751 ft. We will then descend back down to base camp. The views from the summit will compensate for the effort required trudging our way to the top.

      This morning we cross Saribung Pass and head down a steep snow covered snow covered trail and follow the stream until we come to Nagoru. One again we need to prepare our lunch in the morning.

      Today we head out across the desolate and dry Tibetan plateau and through the valley until we arrive at Phu Gaon Village. This area is cut off from the outside world. It is inhabited by Gurung, Lama and Ghale people. There is an old Buddhist Monastery, Tashi Lhakhang, which is said to be one of the worldโ€™s grandest Buddhist monasteries constructed by the famous Buddhist sage Karmapa Rinpoche. There are some unbelievable views of the Himlung Himal and other snow-covered peaks from Phu Gaon where we will camp overnight.

      Today we follow the trail for five to six hours across the Tibetan plateau and then descend to Meta Village. On the trail we pass the ruins of earlier Khampa settlements where Tibetan refugees lived after escaping from Tibet. From Meta we have a majestic view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. We will camp here overnight.

      This morning we start out on the trail and head down through a pine forest and pass a stunning waterfall before arriving at Koto Village where we will stay the night.

      After a five to six hour trek we come to the village of Timang where we can see Mt. Manaslu and other snow capped peaks, before we have to descend to  Danque Village where we will stop for a lunch and then head to Dharapani where we will stay the night.

      Today we head down to the Marsyangdi River passing several villages and crossing a few bridges on the way. We then come to Tal with it wonderful landscape and attractive waterfall. As we continue along a rocky trail we come to another waterfall close to Chamje Village. We then continue until we come to Jagat Village.

      Today we continue downhill along a rocky trail until arriving at Syange where we can see a 200 meter water fall. We then follow a trail along the banks of the Marsyangdi River until we come to Bhulbhule. Tonight we can celebrate the completion of our successful expedition to Saribung Peak.

      This morning we head off along a route through the picturesque countryside stopping at Besisahar to change buses and then on to Kathmandu. You will be dropped off at your hotel and have the rest of the day to wander around Thamel and do some last minute shopping or alternatively sit in one of the numerous cafes or bars and enjoy a drink.

  • Day 25 Day 25: Final Departure Day.

      Today a representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will drop you off at Kathmandu International Airport at least three hours prior to your departure.
