Day 2: San Vito Dei Normanni - Ostuni

Handover of bikes and maps, briefing from the tour. On your first day of cycling you will cycle to one of the most interesting nature reserves of the region: the WWF oasis Torre Guaceto. Close to the Mediterranean vegetation, the sea pushes itself between cliffs, sandy bays and dense reeds. This creates an ideal habitat for snipe, wild duck, silky warbler, amphibian species, various aquatic plants such as neptune grass and corals such as gorgonians. Then you will go to Carovigno and through beautiful landscapes you will reach OSTUNI, the "white city". Take advantage of the evening to stroll among the alleys of the old town. Do not forget to visit the cathedral. DayTourDistance: approx. 43Ascent: approx. 385Descent: approx. 385 MealsBreakfast AccommodationSelected 3* hotel or inn

Today you will cycle through the Itria Valley: the mosaic of vineyards, olive groves, woods and fields is only occasionally punctuated by small white walls and trulli settlements. On your way you will pass the white villages of Cisternino and Locorotndo with their pretty and well-kept old towns. The final destination is ALBEROBELLO, the "capital of the trulli" (unique building construction with the peculiar conical roofs), which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.
