After breakfast, we will begin the tour to discover the Maya Civilization. Firstly, visit the Copan Ruinas, one of the most important remnant sites of the Mayan civilization. Follow your professional guide to visit the main parts such as the Hieroglyphic Stairway, the Mayan Ball Court, and the Sepulchers one by one. In the afternoon, we will explore Copan in another way: enjoy a horse ride along the Copan River Valley to the Maya-Chorti village of La Pintada, where you could enjoy close contact with local people. In the morning, you will enjoy a La Laguna birding walk tour along the Copan River. Besides the common birds, you will also have a chance to see some precious birds like Indigo Bunting, Blue Grossbeaks, Squirrel Cuckoo and Orioles. In the afternoon, we will drive south to Gracias, Lempira. En route, stop at Santa Rosa de Copan for a break. After 3 hours’ driving, arrive at Gracias and check in at the hotel. This evening is free for you to stroll around the cobble stoned streets of the town. You may find some nice shops with local souvenirs or handmade carpentry items.
