  • Day 1 Calama Airport, Arrival & Transfer To San Pedro De Atacama + Stargazing

      Calama Airport, Arrival & Transfer To San Pedro De Atacama + Stargazing

      Reception at Calama Airport and transfer  to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.  Free time to acclimate slowly, your body can adapt to the decrease in oxygen molecules at a specific altitude.  I have organize your activities in such an order that helps you to acclimate properly to the elevation.  Astronomy in the Desert, one of the best places in the world to observe stars, planets and constellations. A night sky without light pollution and with high quality telescopes integrating the local culture and indigenous vision.We observe the fantastic night sky of the Atacama Desert in a small private observatory. During the aproximately 2 hours of stargazing experience, we observe the stars, planets and constellations by the naked eye and through professional telescopes (16โ€). We learn about the importance of the region for modern astronomy as well as for ancient central Andean cultures.It is possible to observe the Milky Way, the stars that make up the constellations, the rotation of the sky. We continue with the technical observation of different types of nebulae and star clusters with the help of a telescope.  Overnight @ Casa de Don Tomas 

  • Day 2 Morning Archaeological Tour + Afternoon Moon Valley

      Breakfast @ hotel.  We visit the archaeological site Aldea de Tulor, one of the oldest sedentary testimonies in northern Chile with mud enclosures buried by sand and which were excavated to become a Site Museum. We continue until we reach the Pukara de Quitor, an Andean fortification built for defensive purposes. Its enclosures are located on the side of a hill 260 ft high. The first confrontation with the Spanish was fought on that site. Back to the hotel. Altitude: 8,300 ft Includes:Tasting of typical Atacameรฑo products Recommendations: Trekking boots, comfortable clothing, sun protection, hat, sunglasses and windbreaker for sunset. In the afternoon, we head towards the salt mountain range to the Moon Valley. Upon entering, the first stop is at the Great Dune, where we walk along a sandy path until we reach the viewpoint with a panoramic view. Then, the second stop is at the Tres Marรญas viewpoint, a geological formation sculpted by erosive agents that look like statues of salt. On the way back, we take a short walk next to the Amphitheater, a geological formation with sedimentary folds of clay, salt and plaster. Finally, we visit the Mars Valley, named for its colors similar to the red planet, from where the sunset is contemplated with a majestic view of the Andes Mountains. We return to the hotel. Tip: Dress in layers (intense temperature changes).  Recommendations: Trekking boot, comfortable clothing for hot and cold, gloves, wool cap / hat, sun protection, sunglasses.   • Day 3 Full Day Altiplanic Lagoons, Atacama Salt Flat + Piedras Rojas

      We will drive to the south of San Pedro de Atacama, towards the Sico border crossing. Our first stop will be on a Tamarugo forest for having breakfast. Later on, we will continue to Red Stones, where we will enjoy a path that will get you closer to โ€œSalar de Aguas Calientes IIIโ€. Located at Piedras Rojas feet. Before our next destination, we will set up the lunch with a stunning view.  Our next highlight will be Altiplanic Lagoons. Wherewe will discover the Miscanti & Miรฑiques lagoons, with a priviledge view of the volcanoes. We will visit the Tropic of Capricorn, we will make a stop for   get   a   picture,   while   we   deliver   information   about   this   southern hemisphere parallel. Included: Miscanti & Miรฑiques entrance fee, breakfast and lunch menu Duration: Full Day (7 hours)  Altitude: 7,545 ft to 13,845 ft Tip: Dress in layers (intense temperature changes).Recommendations: Trekking boot, comfortable clothing for hot and cold, gloves, wool cap / hat, sun protection, sunglasses.   • Day 4 Tatio Geysers + Transfer To Calama Airport + Flight To Santiago

      Tatio Geysers + Transfer To Calama Airport + Flight To Santiago

      Departure at 5:00am from the hotel.  We travel 62 miles to the highlands towards the Andes until we reach the Geysers del Tatio geothermal field, the highest in the world at an altitude of 14,100 ft. After 90 minutes of travel, approximately, we reach the moment that they are in their maximum manifestation. We walked along a marked path to observe the emanations of boiling water.  On the way back, we enjoy the beauty of the landscape, native flora and fauna in stops to observe vicuรฑas, birds and vegetation of the route where the old town of Machuca is located, place of shepherds of ancestral llamas, of the extraction of llareta and sulfur, today this town of adobe houses, straw and cactus wood. On the way back, we see the majestic Andes Mountain Range, whose peaks seem close enough to touch. Return to the hotel.  In due time, transfer to Calama Airport to board your flight destination to Santiago. (we recommend to book flight after 4:00pm) Upon arrival at Santiago Airport, accommodation at Hotel Holiday INN Aeropuerto.  **this is the only hotel inside the airport, located opposite the passenger terminal of Comodoro Arturo Merino Benรญtez International Airport ** Transfer is not necessary**

  • Day 5 Santiago - Flight To Punta Arenas - Puerto Natales

      Breakfast @ hotel. Show up 2 hours before  your domestic flight.  **this is the only hotel inside the airport, located opposite the passenger terminal of Comodoro Arturo Merino Benรญtez International Airport ** Transfer is not necessary} Arrival at Punta Arenas Airport. Reception and transfer to the bus terminla to board the regular bus heading Puerto Natales (245 km/3 hours journey).  Arrival in Puerto Natales, reception and  transfer to your hotel. Currently we have direct flights to/from Puerto Natales, if you choose this option, you can avoid a land transfer (245 km/3 hours drive) from/to Punta Arenas Airport.  Overnight @ Hotel Costaustralis 

  • Day 6 Full Day Tour Torres Del Paine National Park

      Full Day Tour Torres Del Paine National Park

      We will leave Puerto Natales to the north, and after a half an hour trip we will arrive at our first stop: the Cueva del Milodรณn Natural Monument. We will visit the main cave of a group of three caves, where more than 100 years ago were found the remains of this prehistoric animal. The travel continues towards the Torres del Paine National Park, enjoying the view of the Sofรญa Lagoon, Porteรฑo Lake, Prat Mountain Range, Mesa Hill, Toro Range and Ballena Range. After a 2 hours trip, we will arrive in the Lago del Toro viewpoint, located in the lake's south coast. From there, we will have a spectacular view of the lake and the Paine Range (also known as Paine Massif). Then, we will make a small hike by the Grey Lake's shore, from where we will have another perspective of the Paine Massif and the Cuernos del Paine.    After lunch  (not included) in a coffee shop inside the park, we will go to the Salto Grande area, place where is located the Pehoรฉ Lake viewpoint, where the glaciers of the Paine River unload its fast-flowing waters. At the end of the tour, we will visit the Amarga Lagoon and the Sarmiento Lake viewpoint, to then go back to Puerto Natales.   *The places that will be visited are subject to change the same day of the tour because of adverse weather conditions.   • Day 7 Full Day Navigation Balmaceda & Serrano Glaciers

      We will begin our expedition in Puerto Bories where the Frigorรญfico Bories National Historical Monument, a structure from 1913 that stands out due to its industrial, post-Victorian English style. We will continue the journey until reaching Guanaco Island, where we will see beautiful Magellanic dolphins, also known as toninas, a must-see wonder.   The journey on the water will continue until we reach our main destination, Balmaceda Mountain, where we will be able to see the awe-inspiring Balmaceda Glacier. We will disembark in Puerto Toro where we will hike along the bank of the Tรฉmpanos Lagoon with our guide. After a short break, we will continue on to the Serrano Glacier, passing through a native forest of coigรผes (Nothofagus dombeyi), รฑirres (Nothofagus antarctica), and ciruelillos (Embothrium coccineum) while enjoying the magnificent vegetation and the contrast between the sky and the sea ice. Once we have reached the Serrano Glacier, we will enjoy a whiskey with thousand-year-old ice while we take in a breathtaking panoramic view of the glacier.  We will make one last stop at a Magellan Region estancia, where a delicious typical Patagonian lunch with roasted lamb will be awaiting us. After this we will go back to Puerto Natales. approx. we will return to Puerto Natales. **during our low season (May to August) this excursion  only operates on Sundays. However, they make a waiting list to get all the people interested on the activity to see if they can get the minimum needed to sail** Option 1 Full Day Hike to Base Las Torres (Monday) Distance of the trail: 12.4 miles Difficulty: HIGH Total elevation of the trail: 2,297 feet Departure at 7:00am Duration: 13-14 hr approx Option 2 Full Day Sarmiento & Amarga Entrances Trek (Tuesday) Sarmiento & Amarga entrances medium intensity trek, soft hike that passes by two of the Torres del Paine National Park entrances. Departure at 9:00am Duration: 8 hr approx Option 3 Half Day Cerro Benitez Trek (daily) Medium intensity Trek. Travel to the pre-historic Patagonia, with views of the surrounding landscapes.
