Day 1: Bucharest arrival - Sinaia

Stop At: Sinaia Monastery, Manastirii 2, Sinaia 106100 Romania
Today, after picking you up from the airport, we will head straight to Sinaia where we will spend the night

Accommodation included: We will spend the night in Sinaia at a picturesque villa with an amazing view over the surrounding forest.

Day 2: Sinaia surroundings

Stop At: Bucegi Mountains, Main Steet, Sinaia 106100 Romania
Today we will travel to one of the peaks of the Bucegi Mountains by cable car where will see the Bucegi Sphinx, after that we will embark on another cable car to the Padina Plateau where we will walk to the Ialomita Monastery which is built literally inside a cave.

No tour of this country is complete without wondering in the mysterious Ialomicioara Cave. The entire area is well kept and will surely impress any traveler who dares to go inside. From underground waterfalls to ancient fossils, this attraction is guaranteed to have something for everyone

Day 3: Peles Castle - Brasov

Stop At: Peles Castle, Str. Pelesului 2, Sinaia 106100 Romania
In the first part of the day we will visit Peles Castle and take a short walk around the castleโ€™s beautiful gardens and after that we will return to Sinaia where we will have lunch in the afternoon and have a short drive towards Brasov, the place where we will spend the next few days.

One of the biggest Saxonโ€™s city in Transilvania.Once you step in Brasov and its downtown,you will feel like you are in some old german city

Day 4: Rasnov Citadel - Liberty Bears Sanctuary - Bran Castle

Stop At: Rasnov Citadel, Unirii Square no. 12, Rasnov 505400 Romania
The fortress was built as part of a defence system for the Transylvanian villages exposed to outside invasions. A decisive aspect for building the fortress at its location was the route of the invading armies which were coming from the Bran pass and were passing through Rรขศ™nov, on their way to BraลŸov and other parts of the Burzenland region

Stop At: Libearty Bear Sanctuary Zarnesti, DN 73A km 6 - near the entrance in Zarnesti from Rasnov, Zarnesti 500075 Romania
The work this NGO does is amazing. There are currently 105 bears in the sanctuary, bears that were given a second chance. They are all rescues from terrible locations, where they were beaten, malnourished, kept in small metal cages, circus bears or kept illegaly on private properties, used to entertain tourists or visitors.

Stop At: Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle), Str. General Traian Mosoiu nr. 24, Bran 507025 Romania
No trip to Transylvania would be complete without a visit to try and see Dracula. The castle is high on a hill and requires some walking to get to the entrance. We enjoyed the history of the place and enjoyed a walk inside.

Day 5: Rupea Citadel - Viscri Fortified Church - Sighisoara

Stop At: Cetatea Rupea, Strada Cetatii, Rupea 505500 Romania
Today we will leave Brasov behind us and go towards Sighisoara City, however on the way a short stop is mandatory at Rupea Citadel.

Stop At: Viscri Fortified Church, Viscri 507039 Romania
Beautiful fortified church at the end of Viscri village. All towers can be visited as well as small museum with traditional clothes and objects from the region. The church itself is very old and beautiful. From the towers the view is just breathtaking.

Day 6: Biertan Fortified Church - Turda Salt Mine - Alba Iulia

Stop At: Biertan Fortified Church, Central Square, Biertan 557045 Romania
The Fortified Fortress of Biertan is one of the most famous in Transylvania. The town was among the first German settlements in Transylvania. Besides the impressive altar and the imposing organ, a legend is attached to this fortress.

A massive underground excavation with an underground boating pond, ferris wheel and plenty of entertainment to keep everyone entertained while marveling at the vastness of the mine.

Day 7: Alba Crolina Citadel - Sibiu

Stop At: Citadel of Alba Iulia, Calea Motilor, nr. 5A, Alba Iulia 510134 Romania
Alba Carolina Citadel is the crowning attraction of Alba Iulia. Originally constructed in the 13th century, the present fortification dates mostly to the 18th century.
Within this star-shaped citadel are museums, churches and the Unification Hall that sealed the union of Transylvania with Romania in 1918.

Sibiu is awash in aristocratic elegance. Noble Saxon history emanates from every art-nouveau facade and gold-embossed church.

Day 8: Transfagarasan Highway - Poenari Fortress

Stop At: Transfagarasan Highway, Dn 7C Sibiu and Arges County, Curtea de Arges 115300 Romania
The TransfฤƒgฤƒrฤƒลŸan Rd (the 7C) is Romaniaโ€™s highest asphalted road. Driving its hairpin bends is a white-knuckle adventure: along some stretches, you're hemmed in by sharp cliffs and forest. After a few twists and turns, these abruptly give way to breathtaking mountain views. The two-lane 'road to the clouds' sometimes has the narrowest of shoulders separating it from the edge of a cliff. Voted by TV's Top Gear as the world's best road, it provides an unforgettable experience behind the wheel.

Stop At: Poienari Castle, Transfagarasan On the Transfagarasn Road, just after you pass the village Corbeni., Arefu 117040 Romania
The Poienari Citadel was once a powerful fortress guarding entry to a strategic pass linking Wallachia with Transylvania. The castle's vantage point was recognised as early as the 13th century, when Wallachian leaders first built a tower to guard the pass. Two centuries later Vlad ลขepeลŸ enlarged the castle, using it as both a fortress and a prison. Legend has it most of the work was carried out by captured Turks.

Day 9: Snagov Monastery - Romanian Peasant Museum

Stop At: Snagov Monastery, Strada Manastirea Vlad Tepes Silistea, Snagov 077117 Romania
Tiny Snagov Island, at the northern end of Snagov Lake, is home to Snagov Monastery and Vlad ลขepeลŸ' alleged final resting place. The small stone church dates from the 15th century; Vlad ลขepeลŸโ€™ purported grave is located towards the back of the church.

Stop At: Peasant Museum (Muzeul Taranului Roman), Soseaua Kiseleff 3, Sector 1, Bucharest Romania
The collection of peasant bric-a-brac, costumes, icons and partially restored houses makes this one of the most popular museums in the city.
An 18th-century church stands in the back lot. Donโ€™t miss the jarring communism exhibition downstairs, which focuses on the CeauลŸescu-era program of land collectivisation, which almost completely destroyed the traditional peasant way of life.
