      In the morning, you will visit a nearby indigenous village, such as El Vergel or Mocagua, to gain an intimate understanding of the daily life of its people.       In the afternoon, embark on a trek through the nature reserve to reach the Matamata Creek at the border of Amacayacu National Park. If the water level permits, a canoe will pick you up for a serene journey back to the ecolodge. Along the way, youโ€™ll marvel at the high jungle and creek landscapes, observe diverse bird species, monkeys, and possibly other mammals. Youโ€™ll learn about plant adaptations, insects, medicinal plants, and hear legends and myths from the indigenous perspective of the forest.       Start your day bright and early with an invigorating bird-watching experience at 6 AM. As the jungle awakens with a symphony of bird calls, youโ€™ll embark on a journey to observe the rich avian diversity of the Amazon rainforest. With the expertise of our knowledgeable guides, youโ€™ll have the chance to spot a wide array of colorful birds, from toucans and macaws to parrots and herons, all in their natural habitat.


      After your bird-watching adventure, enjoy a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the day ahead. Then, itโ€™s time to bid farewell to the wilderness as we head back to Leticia. Board a public boat departing at 7:45 AM, offering scenic views of the majestic Amazon River along the way.


      Once back in Leticia, you have the option to further explore the cultural heritage of the region. If time permits, visit the Ethnographic Museum to gain insight into the traditions, customs, and beliefs of the indigenous communities of the Amazon. Alternatively, if you have a flight to catch, our guide will ensure a smooth journey to the airport, leaving you with cherished memories of your Amazonian adventure.
