Day 3: Trek From Dharapani To Chame (2630 M) 5-6 Hours.

Today we follow the trail from Dharapani to the village of Chame. The path is in essence a mule track that ascends through fir forests and follows the beautiful Marsyangdi River. The trail heads higher through oak and maple trees and offers magnificent views of the snow-capped Annapurna Himal. We will stay overnight at a guest house in Chame.

Day 4: Trek From Chame To Pisang (3,300 M) 6-7 Hours.

After leaving Chame we pass through the village of Telekhu and on the trail have some spectacular views of Annapurna and Pisang (6091m) until we have to re-cross the river on a suspension bridge to the south bank of the Marsyangdi River. We then head higher passing a pine-forest as we trek through the upper reaches of the Manang Valley to Pisang.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Trek From Pisang To Manang (3,570 M) 4-5 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Trek From Pisang To Manang (3,570 M) 4-5 Hours.

The town of Pisang is where our trek begins into the upper Manang area. Today we first head to Braga; a Tibetan village with its unique architecture and houses constructed one upon the other. One of its main attractions is its Gompa (Buddhist temple), the largest in the Manang region. Manang is a popular village with trekkers and is also an ideal place to acclimatize before heading to higher altitudes. We will stay overnight at Manang.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Acclimatization Day At Manang.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 6: Acclimatization Day At Manang.

Medical professionals strongly recommend that before heading higher that trekkers spend some time acclimatizing and to stay active during this period. From Manang you will have some awesome views of Annapurna II; Annapurna III (7555m); Gangapurna (7454 m); and to the south to Tilicho (7132 m); and the Grand Barrier (a 7000m ridge)to the west; Chulu West (6583m) and Chulu East (6059m) meters in the north. Today, in order to better acclimatize we will climb up to Khangsar (3756m). We will stay overnight at Manang.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Trek From Manang To Yak Kharka (4,110 M) 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 7: Trek From Manang To Yak Kharka (4,110 M) 5-6 Hours.

Today we follow the trail on a 10.4 km uphill path to Yak Kharka passing through juniper forests where you may see yak grazing in the alpine pastures. On the route we pass the only teahouse at Thorong Khola. Depending on the conditions we may decide to go a little further and stay the night at Letdar.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Trek From Yak Kharka To Thorong Phedi (4450 M) 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 8: Trek From Yak Kharka To Thorong Phedi (4450 M) 5-6 Hours.

We gradually get used to the higher altitude as we head to higher altitudes. We follow the trail along the east bank of the Jarang Khola and along the trail witness some steep bluffs before reaching Thorong Phedi (meaning foot hills). We can also decide to trek for one more hour to High Camp (4800m). If we are fortunate we may see the famous blue sheep and even the elusive and secretive snow leopard! This is also home to Lammergeyer (bearded vulture). There is also a belief the mythical griffons (half eagle and lion) are in this region!

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek From Thorong Phedi To Muktinath (3,800 M) Via Thorong La Pass (5,416M) 8-9 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 9: Trek From Thorong Phedi To Muktinath (3,800 M) Via Thorong La Pass (5,416M) 8-9 Hours.

Today is most likely the toughest day of the trek as the higher altitude contributes to the degree of difficulty, and there are often strong winds in these upper altitudes. Along the trail we may pass sheep, yak and merchants transporting their goods on donkeys or on their backs. Once we reach Thorong La Pass we will have some breath-taking views of Annapurna, Gangapurna and the spectacular conspicuous peak of Khatungkang (6484m). After crossing through the pass we descend around 1600 metres and the dazzling Dhaulagiri (Dhavali giri, meaning โ€œWhite Mountainโ€) is visible. This is the highest mountain that is entirely within Nepal. The trail is more undulating and quite easy on the way to Jomson where we stay the night.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Drive From Jomsom To Pokhara (8,50M) 10-11 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 10: Drive From Jomsom To Pokhara (8,50M) 10-11 Hours.

Today is our last day on the trail as we head by bus back to Pokhara. Jomson has a small airport terminal perched on top of a mountain side. This evening you can sit back, relax and enjoy a drink or two and reflect on your amazing adventure in the Annapurna Conservation Area. You may wish to stroll along Lakeside and watch the sunset over the Annapurna Ranges. Other attractions in Pokhara are the World Peace Pagoda (clearly visible looking across Phewa Tal (lake), , Bindabasini Temple, Phewa Lake, Matepani Buddhist Monastery, International Mountain Museum and Deviโ€™s Falls

  • Day 11 Day 11: Drive From Pokhara To Kathmandu (1,350M) 6-7 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 11: Drive From Pokhara To Kathmandu (1,350M) 6-7 Hours.

Today we head back on a 6 to 7 hour road trip to Kathmandu with many warm and unforgettable memories of Nepal and its unique culture and geography. These memories will be with you for a lifetime!
