  • Day 1 Day 1: Drive From Kathmandu To Pokhara (8,50M) 6-7 Hours.

      At around 6.30 am our driver will pick you up from your hotel and we will then set off on a road trip to Pokhara heading through dense green forests along a winding road through the hills and passing many villages before arriving at Pokhara. We will stop on the way for lunch at one of the many roadside restaurants. After arriving at Pokhara and checking in to our hotel near Lakeside we can explore the city and at sunset sit by the lake and take in the views over the mountains as the sunsets. This is an ideal way to relax and end your first day of the expedition.

      This morning begins with a one hour drive to Nayapul from where our trek begins and then follows the Bhurungdi Khola (river). The trail passes through rice fields and orange groves along an easy trail before we ascend to Tikhedhunga where we will stay the night.

      We start the day with a steep climb up 3300 stone steps to Ulleri. Along the trail, we pass through dense rhododendron and oak forests where you will see Langur monkeys climbing in the treetops and musk deer. Once at the top of the stairs we have some truly wonderful views of Machapuchare (Fishtail), Gandhraba Chuli and Annapurna II, and III.

      In order to capture the sunrise from Poon Hill, we will have to get up very early โ€“ before daylight. Once we arrive at the top of Poon Hill you will appreciate why this is one of the best places in Nepal for mountain views. You will see the ever-changing colors as the sun rises over the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. We will then head back to Ghorepani for breakfast and then ascend through the jungle to Deurali. We then descend to Tadapani for the night.

      This morning we have a steep descent through a dense and dark forest before coming to the charming village Chomrong. Before reaching Chomrong we have views of Annapurna South and the venerated Mt. Machapuchare. We will stay at a teahouse here tonight.

      Today we follow an undulating trail before coming to the Chomrong Khola River where we cross the suspension bridge. We then climb uphill for another two hours before arriving at the village of Sinuwa. This area has an abundance of bamboo groves and striking rhododendron and walnut trees on the trail. After a lunch, we pass Bamboo Village and then head on to Dovan/Himalaya where we will stay overnight.

      This morning on the trail we pass Hinku Cave and Deurali before arriving at Annapurna base camp. We will trek close to the Annapurna glaciers and stop on the way at Machhapuchare Base Camp from where we have some great mountain views. From Annapurna base camp we get 360-degree views of Hiunchuli, and past Annapurna South to Annapurna I (8,097m/26,566ft), Khangsar Kang, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, and Machhapuchare. Today is a day full of mountain scenes, such as Annapurna Massif (Annapurna I-IV), Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchare, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, and Paungda Danda. Today is a feast for the eyes as you admire these enormous peaks. We will spend the night at Annapurna Base Camp.

      If we are up early today we will be able to view the spectacular sunrise views of the Annapurna Sanctuary. We then continue on the trail and descend and follow the Modi Khola River until we come to the village of Bamboo.

      To begin today we follow the trail up to Sinuwa and then descend to the Chomrong Khola (river). We then ascend to Chomrong and have one final descent for the day to Jhinu Danda and its thermal hot springs where we can sit and relax those tired muscles. After a dip in the springs, you will sleep soundly.

      This is our final day on the trail as we head down to the banks of the Modi Khola (river) and on to Nayapul. From here we travel by private car for one and a half hours back to Pokhara where we will stay at a hotel near โ€œLakesideโ€ overnight. Tonight you may feel like celebrating at one of the many bars and clubs along the lakeside.

      This morning we hit the road through the mountains back to Kathmandu, passing Marsyangdi and Trishuli rivers. On arrival at Kathmandu you will be taken back to your respective hotels where you can spend the rest of the day either relaxing at your hotel or sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley.
