Uyuni Flats, The Sun & Moon Islands. The Trip Starts In Puno

6 - 6:30 AM: Transfer from the hotel to the Puno bus terminal and board the bus to the town of Copacabana, we will have a stop at the Kasani border to do the immigration procedures and continue to our destination (Lake Titicaca – Copacabana). This picturesque and legendary town is a mandatory transit for the traveler from Peru and La Paz. First we will visit the town and the church where the famous image of the Virgin of Copacabana is located. Later in a private boat we will leave for the Island of the Moon where we will visit the Temple of the Virgins, then we will travel in the same boat to the legendary Island of the Sun, we will have a delicious lunch in the Tacana Restaurant with an amazing view of the lake, later we go on an excursion walking to the Inca Garden and the ruins of the Pilkokaina Palace (40min), built with uncarved stones, the door is trapezoidal with the purpose of supporting the enormous weight of the roof and the second flat. Finally we return to Copacabana and take the transportation to the city of La Paz, arrival at the bus terminal for the connection to Uyuni by bus, (spend the night on board: trip of 9 hours approx.) 06:00 to 07:00 approx., reception at the Uyuni Bus Station. After breakfast, we will walk to the Train Cemetery that is on the way to the hostel located in the town of Colchani (optional with extra cost: Hotel Palacio de Sal or Cristal Samaña. CHECK IN 14:00). Registration at the hotel and accommodation in the respective room. The hotel has several facilities for public use by guests. Breakfast Included Note: This day the service is only with a driver who is together with the passengers.

After breakfast we go to Colchani, a small town dedicated to the exploitation of salt, here there is an artisan market, an ideal place to buy handicrafts made of salt. Then we enter the largest extension of salt in the world with more than 12,000 square km; We will arrive at Incahuasi Island or Isla Pescado (in the rainy season from January to March the itinerary will change) crossing through the middle of the salt flat for about an hour; once there, we will take a short walk to see the immensity of this great salt flat and admire the giant cacti that dominate the place. Then we will have a nice lunch in the middle of the salt flat and also will have time to walk around and play with our cameras doing optical tricks. Later we will see the Ojos del Salar; this is where underground rivers form openings in the salt flat layer. Finally we will enjoy an amazing sunset and return to Uyuni for connection by bus to the city of La Paz. Overnight on the bus. Breakfast and Lunch Included
