Day 1: Penang International Airport Meet & Greet

Stop At: Snake Temple, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Bayan Lepas, Penang Island 11900 Malaysia
Build in honour of Chor Soo Kong, a Buddhist priest and healer, legend has it that the monk gave shelter to the snakes and when the temple was completed after his death, they moved in on their own.

This railway project was designed by Arnold R Johnson, an engineer with the Federated Malay States Railways, based on a Swiss design. the 2,007m long funicular railway was officially open on 1 january 1924. the first carriages were wooden with defined first and second class compartments in each one. The four carriages were in use on the railway for over 50 years until they were retired in 1977 and replaced with the red carriages which had fans and automatic sliding doors.

The Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower is a statement to Penang's royal connections Commissioned in 1897 by a local millionaire, Cheah Chen Eok, to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, it stands 60ft high with each foot representing a year of the Queen's 60 year reign.

Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion is a stately 1880s manor that stands out because of its decidedly expressive indigo-blue facade. Under its roof you will find 38 rooms that feature art nouveau stained glass. Straits Chinese floor tiles, 220 timber frame windows, seven staircases and five granite-paved courtyards.
