There is currently a daily rate imposed by the government. This rate includes accommodation in standard category hotels, meals, ground transportation, guide services and entrances to sites of interest. The daily rate is applied to all tours regardless of the places visited and the list of confirmed hotels. This clause implies that above all in the high season, with a large influx of tourists, higher or lower quality hotels (within the standard category) can be assigned without any possibility of influencing their choice. Generally, superior hotels are assigned to those who first confirm. So in case of late confirmation, you run the risk of getting the worst hotels, especially in the smaller towns, which in some cases do not guarantee private services. By paying a supplement it is possible to have, in some locations, Superior hotels (more or less equivalent to 4 *) and Prestige hotels (more or less equivalent to 5 *).

It is said that Drukpa Kunley or Devine Madman, a popular 15th century saint is said to have created it with his magical power at a large congregation of devotees. Built in 1499, this monastery is dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kinley or โ€˜the Divine Madmanโ€™.
