      fter breakfast at hotel, leave for to Amritsar. Amritsar: The name Amritsar literally means Pool of Nectar. It was founded in 1579 by Guru Ram Das, the fourth Guru of the Sikh religion who settled down beside a pool bequeathed with miraculous healing powers. His son, Guru Arjun Dev, built the temple within the pool. Later, Maharaja Ranjit Singh encrusted it with pure gold leaf.

      After breakfast, head for Amritsar sightseeing tour with first visit to the Shree Durgiana Temple. It is a 16th century temple, built in similar fashion to Amritsar’s famous Golden Temple, dedicated to Goddess Durga (Goddess of wealth). Next, visit the Jallianwala Bagh, a memorial that marks the tragic event of Amritsar Massacre in the year 1919. Visit the Rambagh Gardens that houses the summer palace of Ranjit Singh (founder of Sikh Empire in India) in the middle of the garden. This palace is now a museum that displays the history of Sikh empire, paintings, armoury, coins and manuscripts related to Ranjit Singh and lot more for you to explore. Visit the Gurudwara Shaheed Ganj Sahib dedicated to a Sikh martyr Baba Deep Singh Ji. Head to the Gurdwara Baba Atal Sahib located on the south of Golden Temple. Built in 1778-1784, it is a nine-story building adorned with spectacular architecture. It houses the remains of the son of Hargobind (6th Guru of the Sikhs).

      In the evening, visit the Golden Temple to witness the Palki Sahib ceremony wherein dozens of devotees act as a human conveyor belt to carry the Granth Sahib (a shrine containing the Adi Grantha - holy scripture of Sikhs) from the main shrine to the sanctum, where it is kept until the opening ceremony, the next morning. The golden-domed shrine, known as Gurudwara, is the holiest and the most important Sikh spots in the world, which was constructed between late 16th century and early 17th century.


      After relaxing for a while, proceed to Wagah Border, around 30 km / 1 hour drive from Amritsar city. You will witness here the Wagah Border Ceremony in a village situated near a road border crossing, goods transit terminal and a railway station between Pakistan and India. It is particularly known for the elaborate Wagah border ceremony that happens at the border gate, two hours before sunset each day. The flag ceremony is conducted by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers (PR).

      After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and depart to Chandigarh. Chandigarh: The capital of two Indian states Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh is a metropolis city designed by noteworthy Swiss-French modernist architect, Le Corbusier. Distinguished as “India’s first planned city”, Chandigarh is known for its urban architecture and design that co-exists harmoniously with nature’s preservation.

      On arrival in Chandigarh, check-in to the hotel and relax. 

      This day we will visit Sukhna Lake: a man-made huge water body nestled amidst the green foothills of the Shivalik range, and Rock Garden: a popular tourist attraction, which has been designed using entirely discarded industrial and urban waste.

      After breakfast, we will drive to Shimla (situated at an elevation of 7467 ft. / 2,276 m). Shimla: The former summer Capital of the British India, Shimla is truly a perfect place to enjoy a leisure holiday. Now the capital of Himachal Pradesh, this northern Indian hill station offers a great view of the Himalayas. The place still has the touch of British colonial architecture and designs in certain places. Nothing like the mainstream Indian climate, Shimla is very cool and refreshing. The lush green hills and the snow-capped mountains stand tall, making it a very scenic place. Arrive Shimla, check-in to the hotel and relax. Evening is free for leisure when you could take a walk to the Mall - a promenade where you can view elegant mansions and curio shops. The magnificent pines and cedars give a beautifully fresh scent to the air. Overnight stay in Shimla.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Shimla - Kufri -Shimla

      This morning you will visit Kufri (situated at an altitude of 8630 ft. / 2630 m among the foothills of the Himalayas), a one-hour drive from Shimla. Kufri is a popular adventure destination in India famous for its trekking and hiking trails as well as skiing activities.

      Return to Shimla and in the afternoon, set off for sightseeing of Shimla town, visiting the Jakhoo Hills, known to be the highest point of Shimla (the summit is at 2,455 m / 8054 ft.) offering panoramic view of the town. The Jakhoo Temple is also a popular point of interest here. Then to the Vice Regal Lodge and walk down the Mall Road. The Ridge is a large open space, located in the heart of Shimla. And lastly to Chadwick Falls at 1586 m these rained falls are approached through Summer hill.

      On the second day, post breakfast, get ready to explore the wonderful sights of Old and New Delhi. Start with the beautiful Laxmi Narayan Temple and proceed to places to visit in Delhi like India Gate, a cenotaph commemorating Indian martyrs, Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque. Visit the towering Qutab Minar, historical Purana Qila (Old Fort), Humayun’s Tomb and Jantar Mantar observatory. Pay homage at Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial. Later,  drive to Agra 

      Return to hotel for overnight stay.

      Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) - the most extravagant symbol of love, dedication and purity ever, which took almost 22 years to build. It is an ivory-white marble monument where rests the mortals of Mughal Emperor Shahjahan (who built the Taj Mahal) and his beloved wife (Mumtaz Mahal). An interesting fact about this stunning edifice is that it turns pinkish in the morning, milky white in the evening and golden at night as the moonlight falls upon it. Watching sunrise over this iconic monument, is truly a sight to behold. 

      Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later step out to visit the Agra Fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) that resembles the magnificent Red Fort in Delhi. The Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience) and the Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors) are a must-see attraction here.  Later visit the tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah, located at the center of a quadrangle with gardens laid out in a Char Bagh pattern surrounding it. The structure stands over a raised sandstone terrace measuring 149 feet square and 3 feet and 4 inches high from the ground.

      Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to the beautiful city of Jaipur, also known as the “Pink City” of India. En route visit Fatehpur Sikri (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the abandoned city of the Mughal Empire during the reign Mughal era’s greatest Emperor Akbar. The city boasts some of the magnificent monuments built during the Mughal Era, which include Jama Masjid (one of the largest mosques in India), the Panch Mahal, Buland Darwaza (the highest gateway in the world built by Emperor Akbar in 1601  and Dargah of Sheikh Salim Chisti. You have time to explore the corners of Fatehpur Sikri before continuing the drive to Jaipur.

      Jaipur: Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan is known as the Pink City of India due to the extensive use of pink sandstone in various buildings of the city. The monuments of this historical city showcase a myriad of architectural styles, and its vibrant bazaars are famous for unique traditional handicrafts and jewellery. The ambiance of this city speaks volumes of the rich lifestyle of the Rajput Kings.

      After breakfast, proceed for an excursion tour to Amer fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Enjoy the Elephant ride to the top of the fort. It is a 16th century majestic red sandstone and white marble fortress-palace located on a hill top of the Aravalli Ranges. Next, visit the 18th century Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory housing world’s largest stone sundial. 

      Enjoy Lunch with Cooking demonstration (Tandoor Demo) at a very fine restaurant in Jaipur. Visit Turban Museum, one of the premier tourist attractions in the city, houses the largest collection of turbans in the world. Also get the opportunity to learn how to tie a Turban.

      Continuing on the tour to Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds, an exquisite 5-storey building with over 953 ornate windows and balconies (called jharokhas), built in the late-18th century. End your sightseeing tour with a visit to the City Palace, a part of which is still a royal residence, and major parts are turned into the City Palace Museum with interesting royal collections on display. Built in the 18th century, the palace complex features several noteworthy palaces and buildings such as Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal.
