Arrival In Delhi & Sightseeing

Upon your arrival in Delhi and completion of customs formalities, you will be greeted by our MTA Representative, who will be waiting for you outside Gate Number 4 with a name placard. Your day begins with a visit to Old Delhi, also known as Shahjahanabad. Start by exploring the world-famous Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, capable of accommodating up to 20,000 worshippers. Following this, experience a traditional pedal rickshaw ride through the narrow, bustling alleys of the famous Chandni Chowk Market, a historical market area known for its vibrant atmosphere and variety of shops.

Next, proceed to Rajghat, the memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, where you can pay your respects to the Father of the Nation. In the afternoon, explore the colonial architecture of Delhi, driving through Rajpath to view the Parliament House, the President’s House, and India Gate, a war memorial dedicated to Indian soldiers. Conclude your day with a visit to Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its stunning Islamic architecture. After sightseeing, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and an overnight stay in Delhi.

After breakfast, depart for Agra. Agra rose to prominence during the Mughal era in the 16th century when Emperor Akbar made it his capital. Upon arrival in Agra, visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, an iconic symbol of Mughal architecture. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Following the Taj Mahal, proceed to Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located a few kilo-meters from the Taj Mahal on the banks of the Yamuna River. This massive red sandstone fort was built by Emperor Akbar and later modified by his successors. It houses a number of palaces, halls, and gardens. After exploring these historic sites, check in to your hotel for an overnight stay in Agra.

Depart from Agra and head towards Jaipur, stopping first at Fatehpur Sikri, a city built in red sandstone by Emperor Akbar. Although it was abandoned after only twelve years, the city remains well-preserved, retaining its medieval charm and showcasing some of the finest examples of Mughal architecture.

Your next stop is Abhaneri, a small village known for its architectural wonders, particularly the Chand Baori stepwell and the Harshat Mata Temple. Chand Baori, one of the deepest and largest stepwells in India, was constructed in the 9th century. It features 3,500 narrow steps arranged in a precise geometric pattern, descending over 100 feet. The intricate carvings and grandeur of this structure are truly mesmerizing. Continue your journey to Jaipur, check in to your hotel, and enjoy an overnight stay.

Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The city was stra-tegically planned and built according to Vastu Shastra, reflecting both royal grandeur and scientific acumen. Begin your day with a visit to the Amber Fort, a majestic fortress perched on a hilltop. En route, take a photo stop at the iconic Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds.

After exploring Amber Fort, visit the City Palace, a complex of royal buildings that includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings. The City Palace also houses a museum that showcases an extensive collection of art, carpets, and royal paraphernalia. Adjacent to the City Palace is the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features a collection of architectural astronomical instruments, including the world’s largest stone sundial. Spend some time exploring local handicrafts, textiles, and gemstones for which Jaipur is renowned. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Wake up early for a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges River. Observe the devotees performing their morning rituals and immersing themselves in the river to cleanse their sins. Return to your hotel for breakfast. Later, embark on an excursion to Sarnath, the site where Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Sarnath is one of the four holiest Buddhist sites.

In the afternoon, visit a silk weaving center to witness the intricate work of Varanasi’s famous silk brocades. You may also have the opportunity to purchase some of these exquisite textiles. In the evening, walk along the ghats by the Ganges to attend the Maha Aarti, a vibrant and spiritu-ally uplifting prayer ceremony featuring sacred songs and rituals. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
