      The palace complexes of Durbar Square in Kathmandu are considered the most important Hindu sanctuary in the country. We have the whole day to visit the numerous pagodas and temples. In the evening, we visit the large Buddhist stupa in Bodnath. The stupa is a proud 40 meters high and is whitewashed every year, making it a shining building in the Kathmandu Valley. Immerse yourself in the traditions of the Buddhists on site and discover the spiritual magic of Bodnath. The pilgrims equipped with small prayer wheels and prayer chains, who wander around the stupa in a constant procession and are immersed in deep devotion, are a truly special sight.

      After breakfast, take the overland bus to Pokhara on a scenically varied route. Your hotel in Pokhara is located in a picturesque setting on Phewa Lake. In the afternoon, take a boat trip on Phewa Lake, the second largest lake in Nepal, with views of the Himalayas. Surrounded by mountains and beautiful rice fields, you glide across the water.

      After breakfast, drive to Naudanda, which is located at an altitude of 1,463 m on the ridge of the Kaski massif. On the way you will visit the Tibetan village of Hyanja with its childrenโ€™s home and school. From Naudanda, a beautiful and leisurely hike to Sarangkot begins (duration approx. 3 hours). In Sarangkot you have a fantastic view of Lake Phewa and the Himalayan mountains. Then return to Pokhara.

      Transfer to the airport and flight to Paro. The flight, past the 7000 and 8000 meter peaks of the Himalayas, takes one hour. After entering the country, drive to Thimphu and explore what is probably the most unusual capital city in the world. We visit the national library, painting school and the huge Tashichho Dzong monastery.

      The Simthoka Dzong is the oldest fortress in the country and an absolute must-see on the way to Wangdiphodrang. The Dochu La Pass offers views of the eastern Himalayan range and the highest peak in Bhutan, Gangar Punsum, 7520 meters. Prayer flags flutter in the wind at the top of the pass, 109 chortens celebrate the victories of the Bhutanese king over his enemies. Continue via Wangdue to Punakha. The monastery castle of Punakha, the second oldest in the country, is picturesquely situated at the confluence of the Mo Chu and Po Chu rivers. From the village of Lobesa, take a walk to the sanctuary of Chime Lhakhang, a popular pilgrimage destination for childless women.

      Today we go on a three-hour hike to Taksang Monastery. The world-famous Tigerโ€™s Nest Monastery is the destination of a spectacular hike. Even on the ascent, no one can escape the magic of the Taktsang Gompa (UNESCO World Heritage Site), which clings to the steep rock like a honeycomb. On the way back, we visit a Bhutanese family. Here you will learn lots of interesting facts about the everyday life of the rural population.

Here you have a breathtaking view of the entire Himalayan range. Dhulikhel is located on the Road of Friendship, which connects Kathmandu with Tibet.
