The best cinnamon in the world originated from Sri Lanka from the coastal stretch of Negombo.  Negombo โ€“ being an old and large fishing town, still holds the old world atmosphere of 17th century churches and forts which lay as evidence to the Dutch and Portuguese chapters of history. Negombo is also often referred to as Little Rome.  ---Overnight stay in Negombo---

Negombo is home to the country's second-largest fish market, the "Lellama". This colourful and authentic market is a great place to observe the local fishing trade and see the amazing variety of seafood that is offloaded from boats.  Anuradhapura, Sri Lankaโ€™s longest lasting capital was one of the greatest monastic cities of the ancient world flourishing with Buddhist culture and crowning architectural achievements. Being the heart of Sri Lankan civilization for over a millennium, Anuradhapura was the royal capital of 113 successive kings who administered the producing of magnificent palaces, elaborate sculptures, opulent gardens and enormous stupas built to protect the most sacred relics of Buddhism.  ---Overnight stay in Anuradhapura---

Today you will start your day heading towards Jaffna by Train ( train tickets subject to availability)which is the Northern Tip of the Island and take part in a Jaffna City tour exploring the the ancient Cultural Jaffna Fort and the traditional Nallur Kovil which marks as one of the oldest traditional Hindu Kovils in Sri Lanka Jaffna is located almost at the northernmost tip of the island, Jaffna was once a city rich with learning and culture. Ruined by the civil war that lasted for three decades, only some of the past glory can be glimpsed today. The region is only gradually emerging from the long years of isolation and fighting.  The Jaffna town is fascinating with its eclectic mixture of colonial charm and vibrant Tamil culture. The people of Jaffna are friendly and the city can be reached via land or air. The Jaffna Peninsula is linked to the rest of the land mass through Elephant Pass, a causeway across which elephants used to wade. The surrounding islands of Jaffna are interesting and hold many sites such as remote temples, beaches and more offbeat attractions waiting to be explored. The Dutch Fort on the Neduntivu islet and the Nallur Kovil are several must-visit sites.  The Palmyrah palm with its elegant fan-like fronds is a common sight in Jaffna. Locals tap it for toddy, the sap from its cut flowers; like the sap of the coconut or kittul palm, this liquid can be distilled to make arrack or processed into jiggery, palm sugar.  ---Overnight stay in Jaffna---
