Before going there, you are able  to visit the following beautiful places around Negombo. Whilst, if you have traveled a long distance and are too tired, you can go directly to your accommodation and sightseen will follow sightseen latter day.  Dutch canal -: The purpose of the original waterways was to transport the export produce to seafaring ships leaving from the port of Negombo, then a busy seaport and there is evidence that countries such as China, Burma, Rome and Greece traded with the rulers of Lanka at that time. Agurukaramulla temple -: The Angurukaramulla Temple is a very cool place to visit if you’re in Negombo. It’s best known for its epic statue of the Buddha, and its dragon-entrance – inside you find detailed murals that date back centuries.  [ Overnight stay in Negombo  ]

Five of these species are in the habit of frequenting the beach stretches of the South Coast of Sri Lanka.     Madu River Madu Ganga Wet Land spreads across 915 hectares, out of which 770 hectares is covered with water. Sail downstream for about a kilometer, the river opens its doors to 36 spectacular islands covering the rest 145 hectares. Galle fort -: A recent visit to the Galle Fort World Heritage Site, the writer came face to face with evidence of ‘disintegration’ of this historical location. The Galle Dutch Fort is a rare historical jewel protected by dark, thick stone walls – with the endless ocean on one side. visitor to a delightful walk into the 17th century.   Stick fisherman’s village -: Stilt fishing is a tradition on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The fishermen sit on a cross bar called a petta that tied to a vertical pole driven into the coral reef. The men fish with either rods or just string. The catch is either a variety of spotted herring or small mackerel.  Please note that the above-mentioned attractions are on your way and if you don't like some place, you can skip it. The park’s dry-zone landscape is strikingly beautiful and the park’s wildlife has its own distinctive charm, with huddles of colorful painted storks perched on the incongruously conjoined sight of elephants marching sedately through the bush while rabbits scamper through the undergrowth.
