AYUBOWAN-! This exclusive journey off the beaten touristic tracks with local expertise will give you the opportunity to discover the hidden beauty of Sri Lanka. Visit the amazing World Heritage sites, get to know Sri Lankan culture in rural villages, explore the lush green tea estates and waterfalls in the hills, and discover soft sandy remote beaches.

DAY PLAN:

Upon arrival at Colombo CMB airport, you will meet your tour leader and you will be transferred to your hotel (we can pick you up from any hotel at Colombo or Negombo as well). The ﬁrst destination will be Royal Kingdom of Kurunegala. Along the way through lush green rice paddy ﬁelds and coconut plantations, don’t forget to stop at a roadside stall to try out some king coconut water.

For day one, we haven’t planned any activity, thus you are free to arrive in Sri Lanka at any time.

Evening, you may have a walk along the seashore while enjoying the beautiful sunset and the pleasant evening atmosphere of the beachside.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast with a hot cup of Sri Lankan tea or a coffee, you will take a wonderful journey across the stunning Sri Lankan countryside towards Dambulla city, which is the central point of the cultural triangle on the island.

DAY PLAN:

En-route to Dambulla, you will visit Kurunegala Elephant Rock.

Upon arrival at Dambulla, you’ll enjoy a wonderful cultural village tour while exploring the beautiful countryside. It is a great opportunity to get close to unique local culture & life style of Sri Lankan people. It will start with a Tuk Tuk ride and a catamaran boat ride across the lake before reaching the farmer’s house where you will experience a Sri Lankan curry cooking demonstration & authentic countryside food.

Evening, you will visit the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site), since it is the best time to witness and capture the sunset from the sumit. King Kasyapa (477 – 495 AD) built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. Known as one of the wonders of the world due to the amazing architecture & technology being used.

DAY PLAN:

Early morning, join with trekking to Pidurangala Forest Monastery. Climbing Pidurangala rock is a bit challenging; there is no clear path to the top: steep paths and uneven steps give way to an expanse of boulders and crevices that climbers must navigate in order to reach the summit (optional activity)

After breakfast, visit Polonnaruwa (UNESCO World Heritage Site), in 1070 King Vijayabahu chose this place as his kingdom, one of the most ancient in the history of Sri Lanka. Cycling through Polonnaruwa’s ancient locations is a wonderful experience.

Thereafter, spend your evening on your own walking around and enjoying the surrounding nature. If you are interested, you would experience an Ayurvedic herbal massage.

Day 4 Riverstone Trekking / Kandy

After breakfast, proceed towards Kandy, the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom. It’s set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and bio-diverse rainforests. Kandy is also famous for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

DAY PLAN:

En-roue to Kandy, you will enjoy by Hiking Riverstong Peak ‘The Knuckles’ In Matale. Riverstone is a favorite spot for hikers. It’s part of the Knuckles Mountain Range, which has five beautiful mountain peaks and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Riverstone is between Matale and Kandy. People love it because the weather changes a lot, and sometimes you’re above the clouds! It’s a really peaceful and clean place, perfect for hikers. You can enjoy the fresh air, green trees, and mist. It feels like a piece of heaven on earth.

After breakfast, you will visit the Temple of Tooth Relic (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Kandy viewpoint.

Thereafter, you will visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden, which is known as one of the best botanical gardens in Asia. You will walk through it by exploring the 300 varieties of orchids, a stately avenue of royal palms, the extraordinary, aptly named cannonball fruit tree, and 40m-high Burma bamboo. Another big hit is the giant fig tree on the great lawn, with its colossal central trunk and umbrella-like canopy of branches.

Evening, you’ll enjoy a walk around Kandy’s busy city centre, including a tour of the Central Market, before engaging with a cultural dance show which is inspired by Sri Lankan arts, traditional dance and cultural heritage.

Day 6 Kitulgala Forest Adventures & River Rafting

Today you will proceed towards Kitulgala forest, which is a major ecotourism venue in Sri Lanka. It is a real paradise for those who love adventures.

DAY PLAN:

Upon arrival to Kitulgala experience White Water Rafting in the picturesque Kelani River. The river and its surrounding will make you feel enchanted, with a memorable experience during your River Rafting Tour in Kitulagala. This activity is for anyone above the age of 16 years with all the safety measures.

Afterwards, trek to a natural rock pool, which is extremely beautiful and a gift of nature, where you will be able to experience sliding down an inclined 05-meter waterfall with safety gear into the rock pooL. NOTE: THESE ACTIVITIES INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE.

Hiking to Adam’s Peak is definitely a very exciting activity for many adventure lovers (NOTE: the activity is subject to cancellation due to weather conditions). If you desire to be on top of the world, trek up to Sri Lanka’s most recognized mountain of Adam’s Peak, the second-highest mountain on the island and one of the most famous sacred sites in the Buddhist world as well. From a distance, this incredible mountain can be visible in a pyramid shape that rises impressively to a height of 2,243 m (7,359 ft). The climbing of the mountain normally starts at night; ascent up 5000 stone steps to the top of the pyramid in time to witness a stunning view of the sunrise, a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

After breakfast, you’ll have a wonderful journey towards Sri Lanka’s tea region of Nuwara Eliya. It is often referred to as “Little England” because many of the buildings in this city retain from the British colonial period, such as the Queen’s Cottage, the General’s House, the Grand Hotel, the Hill Club, and the Town Post Ofﬁce.

En-route to Nuwara Eliya, while driving through the cold and misty hills that host lush green tea plantations, stop at a tea factory to observe the rich tradition of making Ceylon tea kept alive up to date. Make sure to end your factory visit in style over a perfectly blended cup of tea.

Afternoon, you will enjoy walking through Nuwara Eliya city center and the fruit and vegetable market.

DAY PLAN:

In the morning, you will enjoy a spectacular train journey from Nanu-oya station to Ella village. It is known as one of the most picturesque hill country train journeys in the world (Train tickets will be arranged at the station / Class category is subject to availability).

Upon arrival explore the village, Ella is everyone’s favorite hill country village due to the fact that it’s a wonderful nature-friendly location. The Nine Arch Bridge, a major tourist attraction in Ella, is a massive bridge built entirely of solid rocks, bricks and cement without using a single piece of steel.

Ella is a great place for walking and climbing and its most famous trekking route is “Little Adam’s Peak”.

Evenings, you could chill out at the village center where there are lots of restaurants, pubs and also evening entertainments. Ella is a stunning location that anyone who is visiting Sri Lanka should not miss out.

After breakfast, depart from Ella towards Yala National Park, the largest and most stunning national park in Sri Lanka. Yala National Park has divided into two sections thanks to a river running through it. Because the river makes crossing to the other side difficult, Yala is treated as two separate parks. Encompassing a range of diverse ecosystems, the park has an impressive variety of wildlife, including sloth bears, leopards, and lots of colorful birds.

Early morning, join with a trekking to Ella Rock to capture the sunrise (optional activity).

En-route to Yala, stop at Ravana waterfall, another popular sightseeing attractions in Ella.

Afternoon, enjoy a 4x4 jeep ride searching for monkeys hanging on trees or whispering through the bushes, crocodiles patrolling the river or baby elephants drinking water and playing around under the evening sunset.

After a fantastic journey through the coconut palms, mountains and waterfalls, you have finally will arrive at the world-famous beachside of Sri Lanka. It’s a magnificent place characterized by white sands and coconut palms growing right from the edge of the sea as if in imitation of a postcard of a perfect tropical beach.

Early in the morning, hit back to the beautiful golden sandy beach and jump into a boat for an amazing ride on the sea to capture the blue whales and dolphins. Please note that whale watching is a SEASONAL activity.

En-roue to Galle, stop at Matara to witness and take pictures of the most famous Sri Lankan stilt Fishermen.

Upon arrival to Galle, walk through the Galle fort listening to the creaks of wooden saloon doors and observe how European architecture mingles with South Asian traditions nowadays ﬂooding cultural enthusiasts on a global scale. Historical Galle Lighthouse stands proudly on the southeast tip of the fort.

Afternoon, you’ll visit a turtle hatchery center where baby turtles learn to take their first swim and injured adults are rehabilitated back into the ocean.
