COVID 19 TRAVEL ADVISORY East Point Safari Bookers COVID-19| Health and Safety Protocols There is undoubtedly no determined end in sight of the COVID-19 pandemic although global efforts to find vaccine(s) and develop guidelines on how to live with COVID-19 have picked momentum. Is it safe to travel to Kenya amidst the global covid-19 pandemic? Our answer is YES. Kenya has been listed among the 80 global destinations certified and authorized to use the โ€œWorld Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) โ€œSafe Travel Stampโ€ after the destinationโ€™s adopted the global COVID-19 health and hygiene standardized protocols. This stamp allows for the recognition of Kenya as a viable holiday safari destination subject to the implementation of the health and safety protocols. KENYA COVID-19 TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Pre-Departure: All travellers must take a valid PCR test conducted within 96hrs before travel. โ€“ Once received, all travellers must immediately register for a Trusted Travel Code (TT Code) prior to arriving in Kenya. All travellers (incl. those in transit) must complete the Travellers Health Surveillance Form. And thereafter submit daily health information for 14 consecutive days. On initial submission of the Travellers Health Surveillance Form, travellers will receive a QR code to be presented to Officials on arrival. Children under 5 years are exempted from taking a PCR COVID-19 test to enter Kenya. All travellers must obtain their visa in advance, online via: www.evisa.go.ke. *If arriving from a country that requires quarantine, this must be provided 24hrs before boarding. On Arrival: Presentation of COVID-19 PCR -ve certificate, TT code & QR code. Failure to provide this will result in 14 days quarantine in government facilities (at own cost). Travellers screened on arrival & required to quarantine for 14 days if displaying symptoms of COVID-19. Passengers whose certificates expire whilst in transit need to leave their passport with the Port of Health Authorities & arrange testing in a recognized facility (at own cost). *QUARANTINE: Travellers from Brunei, Thailand, Kuwait and Qatar will quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in a government approved facility. Note: Guests must also provide evidence of their booking for quarantine 24 hrs before boarding. Diplomats, returning Kenyans, holders of valid Kenyan Residence Permits and other Nationals originating their journeys or transiting through the above countries are exempted from quarantine. They are however, required to self-isolate for seven (7) days upon arrival and report any undue symptoms through the โ€œjitengeโ€ platform. OFFICIAL STATEMENT โ€“ Travellers arriving from UK (irrespective of nationality) are required to self-isolate for 7 days upon arrival, take a further PCR test 4 days after arrival & submit their health information on the jitenge app for 14 consecutive days after the -ve result. Travellers from India: Only Kenyans & Indian Nationals (residents in Kenya) are allowed entry. In addition to the standard protocols, they must take an antigen test on arrival. If antigen test is -ve, they must self-quarantine for 14 days at home. If +ve, they must isolate in a government facility for 14 days at (at own cost & being monitored). Domestic Travel: All travellers must complete THIS digital domestic travel locator 24 hrs prior to your flight to produce a QR code. On Depature: PCR tests are not required unless specified by the airline/the country you are travelling to. For those that do need a COVID-19 test pre boarding, this must also be digitally verified and a TT code obtained. TANZANIA COVID-19 TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Pre-Departure: All travellers (including children) are required to complete a Travellers Surveillance Form, to be submitted within 24 hrs before arrival. Upon submission you will receive a Unique Health Code which will be requested during primary screening. โ€“ All travellers required to take a PCR test taken 72 hrs before arrival into Tanzania. Arrival & Departure: Airports: All travellers to complete a health form & will be screened for COVID-19, including a Rapid Antigen Test at a cost of US$10 per test (must be paid in cash & exact amount). Land Borders: All travellers to complete a health form & will be screened for COVID-19, including a rapid test, free of charge. All travellers arriving from India, or those who have travelled through India in the last 14 days regardless of the route taken, shall be subjected to a Rapid Test upon arrival (US$10 per test) followed by stringent contact tracing & 14 days mandatory quarantine at their own cost. The mandatory quarantine location can be selected by the traveller, from the list provided in next tab. UGANDA COVID-19 TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Pre-Departure: All Travellers are required to have a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72hrs of travel. The 72hrs begins on the day the sample is collected for testing. Children are exempt when accompanying parents with -ve test certificate(s). โ€“ Covid certificates MUST indicate TRAVEL as the intended purpose of test. We advise all travellers to complete the Test & Fly document before travel, ordering your PCR test at Entebbe International Airport in advance. CLICK HERE to see procedural infographic. On Arrival: Presentation of COVID-19 -ve certificate as outlined. Temperature and health screening. Effective from 3rd Septemberโ€™21: All travellers (including children), irrespective of vaccination status or country of origin are required to undergo a PCR test at their own cost ($65pp) at all Points of Entry. Those testing negative can continue their journey as per usual. Those testing positive will be taken to a designated isolation facility. Children under 18yrs testing positive will be allowed to undergo home quarantine. Results usually take 3-4 hours. On Departure: All travellers must have a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72hrs of travel (72hrs begins on the day the sample is collected for testing). KENYA QURANTINE EXEMPTED STATES AS AT 8TH SEPTEMBER 2021: Please note that this list is being reviewed on a daily basis and new countries added as they qualify for quarantine exclusion. GENERAL TRAVEL REQUIREMENT All passengers coming to Kenya must be in possession of a valid COVID-19 negative PCR test certificate conducted within 96 hours before travel. Operating crew are exempt from COVID-19 test when on a layover between flights. They must adhere to COVID-19 protocols from airport to hotel/residence and back to airport. All travelers (children) below the age of 5 years will be exempted from COVID-19 negative PCR test to enter Kenya. All travelers will be expected to fill the travelersโ€™ locator form and submit before travel to https://ears.health.go.ke/airline_registration/ and thereafter submit daily health information to โ€œjitengeโ€ platform for 14 consecutive days. Diplomats and Senior government officials will be exempt from quarantine but must be in possession of negative PCR test conducted within 96 hours before travel. B. TRAVELLERS FROM THE FOLLOWING STATES AND TERRITORIES SHALL BE REQUIRED TO UNDERGO MANDATORY QUARANTINE FOR 14 DAYS UPON ARRIVAL INTO KENYA IN A GOVERNMENT APPROVED FACILITY AT THEIR OWN COST: Brunei Thailand Kuwait Qatar Travelers in item B above shall be required to: Be in possession of a negative PCR-based COVID-19 test result conducted within 96 hours before travel and not display any flu-like symptoms upon arrival. Provide evidence of their booking for the quarantine locations 24hrs before boarding. The list of facilities available for quarantine can be availed from info@kmpdc.go.ke. Diplomats, returning Kenyans, holders of valid Kenyan Residence Permits and other Nationals, originating their journeys or transiting through the above Countries are exempted from quarantine. They are however, required to self-isolate for seven (7) days upon arrival and report any undue symptoms through the โ€œjitengeโ€ platform. Travelers in transit through Doha International Airport into Kenya are exempted from quarantine and self-isolation. C. THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS SHALL APPLY TO TRAVELLERS FROM INDIA INTO KENYA Exempt from quarantine as long as they are in possession of negative PCR-based COVID-19 test results conducted 96 hours before travel. Self-isolate for 10 days upon arrival in the country and register on โ€œjitengeโ€ for daily monitoring by the ministry of health. E. East Point Safari Bookers COVID-19 HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCALS: Natural World Kenya Safaris has adopted tourism and hospitality protocols on health and safety to mitigate the effects of the disruptions caused by the corona virus disease and taken responsibility of ensuring that destination Kenya is safe for tourism business. Protocols for East Point Safari Bookers offices & staff: Our frontline workers โ€“ office staff and safari guides have gotten Covid-19 vaccines We have provided approved facemasks, hand sanitizers/hand washing facility with running water and soap at the entrance and at other strategic locations in the premises which are hygienically operated. We have provided contactless thermometer for body temperature check at the entrance for both staff and visitors. Have documented Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for guest Management line with these protocols and MOH Covid-19 preventive guidelines as appropriate. We have created and will maintain a register of all staff & drivers. All staff have been instructed to wash or sanitize hands their before and immediately after entering the work premises, after changing into uniforms, after using lockers and frequently while on shift, particularly after touching items or surfaces. All our staff offices have provision for adequate ventilation and maximized via wide openable windows. We have provided visible notices / signs and other sensitization information at the strategic locations/entrance on Covid-19 preventive measures, screening, frequent hand washing and sanitization and mandatory wearing of face masks. We have a Guest/visitors register shall be kept and updated daily and include mobile contact & physical address for ease in contact tracing. We have Integrated technologies to enable automation, such as online, mobile payment and discouraged cash payments. Our wide office doors shall be left/wedged open to reduce surface touching or porters/security shall be deployed to open doors to limit their touching of surfaces. We have provided separate waste bins in each office and at strategic locations and appropriate method for collection and storage of used PPEs to ensure hygienic waste disposal with minimum contact. We have a documented list of emergency contacts, reporting system and evacuation procedures for any arising health related incidents at our offices. We have developed office staff work schedules and shifts and provided the option of working from home for some of our staff. All our public facilities (kitchen, washrooms, lobby/lounge etc) shall adhere to social distancing, frequent cleaning and disinfection and provided with adequate supply of hand washing and sanitizing facilities. Staff have been trained on the same. We have developed cleaning procedures with appropriate disinfectants/sanitizers focusing on guestโ€™s body, luggage, travel documents and high-frequency touch points/surfaces. Office gadgets/equipment headsets, personal computers, desks, telephones are dedicated to one staff member. Guest/visitors register shall be kept and updated daily and should include mobile contact & physical address for ease in tracing. Whenever possible, minimize walk-in clients and encourage online bookings. We will maintain records of sanitized areas/surfaces, detergents used and personnel involved in cleaning and sanitization process. Protocols for airport transfers, excursions & safari operations: We will ensure that all our safari transfer vehicles are properly cleaned and sanitized during and after each trip/ transfer. We will Provide packed lunches for long drive to avoid unnecessary stop-overs. We shall ensure drivers and guides use suitable communication gadgets for vehicles carrying more than 7 passengers to communicate with guest to avoid turning or shouting to enable them to be heard by guests. We will maintain a register of clients transported or who have interacted with the tour guides. We shall ensure our safari / transfer vehicles are sanitized before the start of each trip and this will include cleaning and disinfecting of all surfaces (handrails, door handles, seats etc.) at regular times in the course of trip. Particular attention shall be given to luggage disinfection before and after handling. We shall encourage open windows when weather permits, to allow air circulation in all our safari and transfer vehicles. We will limit the number of staff accompanying guests in every trip โ€“ only one driver guide per vehicle. We shall ensure information provided (like tourist map) is stuck on the back of the chairs of the vehicle to minimize contact. Only the driver guide will be permitted to open doors for the clients to minimize touching contaminated surfaces where applicable. The driver shall sanitize the doors before and after opening/closing. We will endeavor to educate office staff, driver guides and customers about their shared responsibility to help protect each other in a Covid-19 environment. Maintain appropriate and reliable list of emergency contacts for rapid assistance in case of health and safety related instances. This list will be stuck in each of our safari/transfer vehicles. We will educate and encourage our guests to minimize /avoid paying using cash at restaurants, curio shops e.t.c. Onlline, Mobile payment or credit/debit cards encouraged. Disposable approved & quality facemasks and sanitizers shall be made available in the vehicle for use at all times. Our drivers shall not be allowed to make stopover at any other place apart from the prearranged designated point or areas. All our vehicles shall carry a capacity that ensures social distancing between guests travelling together. Land cruisers and similar vehicles the carrying capacity shall not exceed 6 passengers. East Point Safari Bookers will only choose partners that are confirmed to comply with existing Government directives for the safe handling of their guests. This includes but is not limited to hotels, airlines, boats e.t.c. Any provided water bottles or items shall be labelled with each guest name to avoid sharing or use by another. Binoculars and cameras shall not to be shared and shall be sanitized regularly. Families, tour groups and couples shall be allocated to a specific vehicle and a guide for the duration of their stay to minimize exposure to other guests and guides.

      You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and we will first drive through the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley to take some pictures of the beautiful landscape. After which, there will be another stop-over for lunch before we continue our drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be guided to your accommodation to settle in and relax with snacks and coffee. This will be followed by your first afternoon game drive, your first taste of African wildlife.       The whole day will be spent in game viewing and exploring the parkโ€™s high concentration of wild animals. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals including the elusive Cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. In the afternoon, an optional visit to a Maasai village can be arranged (entrance fee of 15 USD is not included in the package). Here you will be welcomed by the locals singing and dancing, a sacred ritual that has formed their rich tradition. Part of the tour includes a glimpse to their local homes and way of life.       We will start the day with an early morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast. After which, we will depart for Lake Nakuru National park located in the Great Rift Valley. Lake Nakuru is home to a stunning flock of lesser and greater Flamingos, turning the lakeshores into a magnificent pink stretch. The park has diverse species of over 400 birds such as White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa where you can see the White and Black Rhino and rare Rothschildโ€™s Giraffe.
