      After breakfast, our 12 Days Africa Bird Watching Safari begins by a drive north via Nanyuki to Samburu National Reserve arriving in time for lunch. This reserve takes its name from a cone of volcanic rock and is one of Kenyaโ€™s most pristine game reserves. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Ashnil luxury Camp.

      Morning and afternoon game drives. You have the opportunity to see the unique birds and Wildlife found only in the northern frontier part of Kenya that is, Gerenuk, Grevyโ€™s zebras, Oryx, Reticulated giraffes and the Somali Ostrich. This is Kenyaโ€™s semi-arid region characterized by vast, open landscape which also includes dried river beds, red volcanic soil, rock outcropping, river acacia trees and palm trees.       Today we travel to the exotic Sweet Waters Tented Camp in the secluded heart of Ol Pejeta Ranch and Rhino Reserve. Our camp overlooks one of the busiest waterholes in the area and offers elephant, giraffe and myriad plains game. This is Africa as Teddy Roosevelt saw it years ago when he led one of the first safaris to tour Africa in comfort and splendor. Overnight at Serena Sweet Waters Tented.

      After breakfast drive southwards to the lush foothills of snowcapped Mount Kenya โ€“ Africaโ€™s second highest mountain, arriving at the Lodge in time for lunch, you will relax in the balconies and lounges which provides superb vantage point for game viewing at the water hole. Nestled in the foothills between Aberdare and Mount Kenya National Park, the lodge is famous for its high perches and balconies, overlooking a salt lick and waterhole.       After breakfast, drive to the Scenic and alkaline Lake Nakuru. In recent years this lake has become another favorite home of the millions of flamingo which seasonally visit its shores. Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for thousands of greater and lesser flamingos. This park also provides sanctuary for Rothschild giraffe, rhino and leopard. Arrive for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon game drive until sunset. Overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.

      After a delicious breakfast, we take a full day game viewing experience in Lake Bogoria National Park. The spectacular alkaline Lake is famously known as the feeding ground of both lesser and greater flamingos. we will also travel to Lake Baringo for more birds before coming back to the lodge for our Overnight stay.

      We depart after breakfast and head to Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch. The abundant fish population in Lake Naivasha supports variety of fish eating birds like Pied Kingfisher, Black Heron, African Fish Eagle, Long-tailed and Great Comorant. Dinner and overnight at lake Naivasha Sawela Lodge.

      Day 10: Lake Naivasha โ€“ Masai Mara National Reserve

      After a leisure breakfast at Lake Naivasha Lodge, depart overland to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve-jewel of Kenyaโ€™s Game Park arriving in time for lunch. The Maasai Mara is Kenyaโ€™s finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary where gentle rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight. The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and well spread rainfall year round. The sensation of the great wildebeest migration between July and October is unparalleled.


      After lunch, explore the Reserve on a late evening game drive. No matter how much you have thought about Africa, this is more than you expectedโ€”the big five-Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape buffalo are in abundance.       Today we will be spending in the vast Eco-system of the Mara searching for the big five and much more. You also have an optional balloon safari. Game viewing is great with the opportunity for beautiful pictures. The annual wildebeest migration is expected in the Maasai Mara between July and early November.
