Others

National Park permits and TIMS permits for trekking. Mera Peak Climbing Permit. Comprehensive medical supplies (first aid kit will be available). Arrangement of Emergency Helicopter service (paid by your Travel insurance company). Use of sleeping bags, Down Jacket, Duffel bag and Walking Poles (to be returned after the trip). Government taxes and official expenses. Group climbing equipment (Climbing Rope, Ice Screw, Snow Bar, Ice Hammer, Camping Tents and Kitchen equipment) Guided Kathmandu sightseeing tour with private vehicle as per itinerary. Oxymeter to check your pulse and oxygen saturation and heart rate twice daily (Very useful to check Altitude Mountain Sickness(AMS) symptoms) Which will ensure you trek is in the safest hands possible for all levels of trekker. Assistant guide group size above 5+ person.

Meals

Three meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) during the trek. Hygienic meals( Breakfast, Lunch Dinner) with tea and coffee, seasonal fruit, or cane fruits.

Guide

Local Sherpa Expeditions Teams licensed English-speaking trekking guide. Climbing Sherpa from Mera High camp or Khare or Lukla to the summit and back.

Accommodation

Double or twin sharing accommodation in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu; Breakfast (3 nights) included. Tented camp accommodation and all meals at High Camp. (We will provide fully water/wind-proof twin-share tents, dining tents, kitchen gear, dining table, chairs, toilet tents, etc. (1 or 2 nights only). Basic guesthouse accommodation during the trek in mostly twin-share and occasionally dormitory-style rooms per itinerary.

Meals whilst you are in Kathmandu Lunch and dinner. Nepal entry visa fee. Your Travel and medical insurance( Recommended) International airfare. Your personal expenses. All the alcoholic and nonalcoholic, soup, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cocoa, mineral water, extra food, cold and hot drinks on trek ( i.e. those you choose to purchase along the way and during evenings in the tea houses) Desserts Sweet things like chocolate, cake, pie, pudding. Battery charging and hot shower on the tea houses. Personal climbing equipment can be hired $150 USD per person. Kathmandu sightseeing tour entrance fees. Tips for the guide, porter and driver (Tipping is expected). Excess baggage more than 15kg for Lukla flight. Please be advised that if you need to return early from the trek due to reasons such as sickness, unfavorable weather conditions, personal issues, itinerary modifications, or any other unforeseen circumstances, the following conditions apply: - Any payments made for flights, hotel accommodations, mountain room bookings, meals, and related expenses are nonrefundable. - You will be required to cover the costs of hotel stays, meals, and other expenses in Kathmandu independently. Additionally, please note that during the months of March to May and September to November, all flights will depart from Ramechhap. It will be necessary for you to make a 4-5 hour drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap in order to catch your flight. Kindly consider these terms and arrangements carefully before commencing your trek.       A representative from Sherpa Expedition Teams will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel in Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu.  where you will also be briefed on what to expect on your journey to Mera Peak and get to meet your fellow climbers.

      This morning we take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the access to the Khumbu and Everest regions. We follow a trail heading east through thick forest on a trail on the hillside below the Kalo Himal ridge. We then come to Paiya where we will stay overnight.

      Today we head downhill and cross a bridge on our way to Kari La Pass. The trail takes us through low shrub and bamboo forest with views down to the Dudh Koshi Valley and river. We will then come to the farming village of Pingkongma where we will stay overnight.

      We head out this morning to Pingkongma La Pass and then climb uphill on a trail heading in a northerly direction. Along the trail we cross the Peseng Kharka Khola (river) and pass the village of Kharka Danda. We cross the Ningsow Khola (river) before coming to Ningsow Village where we will stay overnight.

      This morning we head up to Ramailo Danda from where we have some great views of Mera Peak. We then follow the trail as it passes through the Makalu Barun Park. We continue along the Pasang Lhamu trail until we reach Chhatra Khola.

      Today we head in a northerly direction to Mera Peak. We then arrive at the Majang Khola (river) the trail connects with another that leads to Hinku Khola and then continues to Tashing Ongma where we cross the bridge over the Sanu Khola before reaching Kothe where we will stay the night.

      Today the trail follows the Hinku Khola (river) with Mera Peak looming directly above us. We will stop for lunch break at the small yak and cattle grazing settlement of Gondishung and continue past the 200-year-old Lungsumgba Gompa (monastery) before coming to Thangnak where we will stay the night.

      From Thagnak we follow the trail to Khare and on the trail have views of Charpate Himal. The trail then heads up and crosses moraines at the base of the Hinku Nup and Shar glaciers. From Khare we have views of the north face of Mera Peak. We will stay here overnight.

      Today is dedicated to acclimatization, something that is essential before heading higher. Health professionals recommend staying active during this time. Your guide will also go over some techniques on climbing to Mera Peak and the use of an ice axe, harness, ascenders and crampons. We will stay overnight at Khare.

      On the trail today we have to cross a rocky terrain and through Mera La Pass to reach Mera High Camp. At High Camp we will have some astonishing views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, and Cho Oyu, Nuptse, Chamlang, and Baruntse. We will stay here overnight.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Summit Mera Peak (6,461M/21,1907Ft) And Back To Khare (5045M/16,547Ft) And Fly Back To Lukla By Helicopter Duration 8-9 Hours.

      This is the day we have all been waiting for as we head to the summit. We will be up real early in the morning order to reach the summit with time enough to return to High Camp and Khare. The early morning light on the snow covered peak is dazzling. From the summit we have some awesome views of Mt. Everest (8,848m), Cho-Oyu (8,210m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Nuptse (7,855m), Chamlang (7,319m), Baruntse (7,129m) and other massive peaks. We will then return to Khare for the night.

      Today we have an early morning scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. You will be taken back to your hotel in Thamel where you can stroll around its narrow streets or visit some of the historic sites in Kathmandu Valley.

      Today is the last day of your climbing adventure in Nepal. A representative from Sherpa Expedition Teams will take you to the airport at least 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home youโ€™ll have a lot of time to consider your next great adventure into the Himalayan Mountains. There are definitely more mountains to climb!
