Tour Leaders are quite simply the glue that holds our tours together. They are chosen for their travel experience and people skills and are thoroughly trained by Explore, widely acknowledged as some of the best training in the industry. A Tour Leader's ultimate aim is to ensure everyone is well looked after and have a fantastic trip. They are there to ensure that the tour logistics run smoothly, that health and safety is adhered to and provide comprehensive briefings at the beginning and throughout the tour.

Meals

A key facet of our responsible approach to tourism is that we encourage our groups to eat in local restaurants that prepare locally grown food. We give customers choice as to their meals and do not use rather bland and impersonal hotel restaurants or all- inclusive options 7 Breakfasts

All accommodation, activities and meals that are shown in the itinerary are included in the total cost of your trip You will also receive a complimentary transfer to and from the airport if you arrive on day 1 of the trip and depart on the last day and have provided your international flight information.

Transport

Bicycle, Taxi Your luggage will be transported between hotels for you so you only need to carry a day pack whilst cycling.

7 nights standard hotel Our comfortable, mid- range accommodation offers a good level of service, often with amenities such as, restaurant, bar, garden or swimming pool. Rooms generally have en-suite facilities.

  • Day 1 Day 1: Join Trip Marseilles Airport, Drive To Cavaillon

      Day 1: Join Trip Marseilles Airport, Drive To Cavaillon

      Our trip begins at Marseille Airport (MRS) at 12pm. If you would like to join the complimentary airport transfer today, the latest your flight can arrive is 11.30am. We will travel together as a group by taxi to the pleasant Provencal town of Cavaillon, a key focal point in the Luberon, with its 1st century Roman Arch, 12th century Cathedral, Synagogue and Museums. This afternoon there will be a full trip briefing and then time for bike fitting, followed by some free time to wander the narrow streets. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, you may have time to wait ahead of our group transfer to Cavaillon. If you have booked an optional e-bike, you will be required to pay the โ‚ฌ250 or ยฃ250 cash deposit and sign an agreement of care upon receipt of the bike. If you wish to drive to the start of the trip, please ask us for parking details.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Circular Cycle Along The Valley Of The Durance River

      Day 2: Circular Cycle Along The Valley Of The Durance River

      Today's cycle route crosses the river Durance, after which we'll get a first feel for our bicycles and use some traffic free cycle routes through the forest and along the fruit orchards of the Luberon. We then cross the river again and enjoy the superb views of the Lubรฉron escarpment. Cycling from Mallemort to Orgon with its 13th century Knights Templar castle. This route offers views along the Durance Valley before returning to Cavaillon, where there is some free time to explore the sites. Our total cycling distance today is approximately 45 kilometres (Start height 72m, highest point 156 m. Total ascent 221m)

  • Day 3 Day 3: Following The Line Of The Alpilles Mountains, We Arrive In St Rรฉmy-De-Provence, For Free Time To See The Sites; Return To Cavaillon

      Day 3: Following The Line Of The Alpilles Mountains, We Arrive In St Rรฉmy-De-Provence, For Free Time To See The Sites; Return To Cavaillon

      Setting off to cross the river valley, this morning we follow the Alpilles range and past Eygaliรจres to arrive in St Rรฉmy-de-Provence by lunch time where we will spend some time to take in the many sites. This beautiful town boasts a pre-Roman Celtic shrine, the Roman antiques and was the birthplace of Nostradamus and one time home to Vincent Van Gogh. There are many optional visits here for art and history lovers and your leader will detail all the options. After a few hours of free time, our return route uses a cycle track and later meanders through the fruit orchards to return to Cavaillon. Our total cycling distance today is approximately 57 kilometres (Start height 72m, highest point 128 m. Total ascent 277m)
