  • Day 1 Arrival + Welcome

      Arrival to Marrakesh, Morocco. You are met at International Airport and transported to our guesthouse. The remaining day is spent settling in or exploring the old city of Marrakesh.   • Day 2 Agadir + Orientation

      Agadir + Orientation

      After traditional breakfast served at the guesthouse, our crew departs via private shuttle to the city of Agadir, about 3 hours driving. We take in the countryside along the way. After we arrive and refresh at the guesthouse, our guide leads us on a historical walking tour of Agadir.   • Day 3 Argan Cooperative Storytelling Project

      Argan Cooperative Storytelling Project

      Our crew travels outside the city to visit a Argan Cooperative. We interview the leaders, learn about their work, identify interesting stories and document the process.   • Day 4 Couscous Cooperative Storytelling Project

      Couscous Cooperative Storytelling Project

      Our crew travels outside the city of Agadir to meet with a Couscous cooperative and its leadership. We get a tour of the community and participate in a workshop. As we meet the members who work with raw couscous and hear their stories, we document our encounters with video and photo recordings.   • Day 5 Saffron Cooperative Storytelling Project

      Saffron Cooperative Storytelling Project

      After breakfast, the crew departs for the village of Taliouine. We will visit a local Saffron Cooperative to learn more about the most expensive spice in the world. We conduct interviews with the leaders and make photo/video recordings of our experiences. We spend the night in the village at small guesthouse, taking time to review our dayโ€™s footage and discuss our experience.   • Day 6 Desert Sightseeing

      Desert Sightseeing

      We take a break from work with cooperatives and visit several remarkable sites in the desert. We will document our experiences with video and photography to use for MSIT responsible tourism initiatives.   • Day 7 Textile Cooperative Storytelling Project

      Textile Cooperative Storytelling Project

      Our crew travels out to a Berber community to learn from the expert textile weavers who have formed a Carpet Cooperative. We get a tour of the community and meet with the artisans who work with the cooperative. As we hear their stories and get a glimpse of their life, we document our experiences with video and photo recordings. In the afternoon, we return to the guesthouse to review our days work.   • Day 8 Rose Cooperative Storytelling Project

      Rose Cooperative Storytelling Project

      Our crew travels out to the Valley of the Roses to meet with a Rose Cooperative.   • Day 9 Air Ben Haddou Kasbah + Ouarzazate
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Air Ben Haddou Kasbah + Ouarzazate

      After breakfast we depart Dades Gorges to head back to Marrakesh. Along the way, we stop to visit 11th century UNESCO-protected red mud-brick ksar, which has formed the backdrop for many Hollywood movies. We also make a stop in the city of Ouarzazate to explore. In the final stretch, we wind up the memorable Tizi nโ€™Tichka pass via the high Atlas Mountains. In the evening in Marrakech we take part in a farewell ceremony and celebration.
