Drive To Machhakhola /869M, 10-11 Hrs Drive

Here we go, the Manaslu regionโ€™s adventure starts! It all begins after Kathmanduโ€™s escape for Machhakhola. The bus will find its way through a serpentine road that neighbors green hills, rivers, settlements, and many more. Itโ€™ll be a comfortable ride until Aarughat but from there the bumpy and rough road starts. But the bumpy roadโ€™s experience will be very new for you and you may totally enjoy it.

After being on the seat for 8 hours, youโ€™ll reach the destination where you have to spend an overnight, Machhakhola. Itโ€™s also the starting point of Manaslu Larke Pass Trekking and several other treks of this region.

  • Day 2 Trek To Jagat /1340M, 6-7 Hrs Walk
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Trek To Jagat /1340M, 6-7 Hrs Walk

The first of the several mornings outside Kathmandu will make you hit the trail of the trek for the very first time. After breakfast at Machhakhola, youโ€™ll leave Machha Khola back and join the trail that moves with the Buri Gandaki River. From there, youโ€™ll enter the forest before reaching the village area of Gurungโ€™s. We walk on the bank of Budhi Gandaki River and pass the beautiful charming village of Tatopani where you can get the chance to bathe in a natural hot spring.

After refreshment, youโ€™ll start the rest of the trek by crossing a suspension bridge to Doban. The very stretch after the bridge is slightly rough and difficult as you have to walk in a landslip area. We reach Dobhan and the trails go continue to the north until we reach Jagat, the place of stone flag street. We overnight stay there.

  • Day 3 Trek To Pewa / 1600M, 5-6 Hrs Walk
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Trek To Pewa / 1600M, 5-6 Hrs Walk

Wake up early in Jagat and have breakfast to start the day at the right time. Thereafter, youโ€™ll lace your shoes to reach Pewa through Salleri, Sirdibas, and Phillim. There are some gompas and many prayer flags along the way today to explore. You have to show your trekking permits at Pewa to proceed further. Getting your permits checked, youโ€™ll enjoy the trek ahead which leads through a wood of pine and rhododendron. Then youโ€™ll come to the point from where the other popular trek of the region, Tsum Valley Trek, parts the way.

And from there it will not take much to reach Pewa where you have to end the trek for the day. Pewa is a popular stopover of the entire trek for its special Dal Bhat. Youโ€™ll enjoy that night meal and if interested youโ€™ll interact with the people there whilst your body warms around the fireplace.

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Trek To Namrung /2630M, 6-7 Hrs Walk

Walking through some villages lined with Mani Stones carved into wayside rocks. You will be surrounded by towering peaks, verdant forests, and pristine waterfalls. The trail can be challenging at times, but the beauty of your surroundings will inspire you to push through.

Moving safely out of that part, youโ€™ll join an ascending hill which tends to take around 1 hour of trek. The climb is not nose touching straight, rather its rounding and easier one to trek. Through settlements like Rana, Bihi Phedi, and Ghap, youโ€™ll comfortably move ahead except at Ghap. The place is very slippery as the trail lies in the landslide area. Specifically, the Prok Village serves as a viewpoint for the (Mt.) Siringi Himal. Youโ€™ll follow a zigzag trail and one last steep trek to reach Namrung village where weโ€™ll stay the night.

Reaching the hilltop near Pungyen Gompa is a truly remarkable experience, offering unparalleled vistas of the majestic Manaslu Himalaya range.

If you still have the energy for more adventure, you can either take a detour to the Pungyen Gompa or hike to Manaslu Base Camp - itโ€™s not like you must sit idle on acclimatization days. These all of the places lie not so far from Sama Gaun that is within 4 hours of reach. After spending the day by hiking around one of those places, youโ€™ll be able to adjust your body with the higher heights. It stands at a surreal height of 5,160m and from there you can get enough views of the entire Manaslu region and the neighboring Annapurna regions mountain and landscape views. Weโ€™ll cross the moraines and descend to gentler meadows via a steep gully. The widening valley, mani walls, and sight of human settlements signal the arrival of Bimthang.
