Guide

Local Sherpa Expedition Teams English-speaking guide with all his salary, food, drinks, accommodation, transport and insurance.

Others

Manaslu Special permit and Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) (MCAP) entry permit & Tourist Information Management System (TIMS) permits. Down Jacket and sleeping bag by Sherpa Expedition Teams (which need to be returned after the trek.) Medical supplies (first aid kit will be available). Government taxes and official expenses. Assistant guide group size above 6+ persons.

Accommodation

Double or twin sharing accommodation in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu; Breakfast (2 nights) included. Guesthouse accommodation during the trek in mostly twin-share and occasionally dormitory-style rooms (11 nights).

Transport

Airport Pick up and drop by private car Shared Bus to Sotikhola and regular bus back to Kathmandu from Besishar. Shared Jeep from Dharapani- Besishar.

Meals

Three meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) during the trek. Fresh fruit every night after dinner.

Sightseeing/Monument entrance fees($30 USD per person) Tips for the guide, porter and driver (Tipping is expected). Laundry, telephone and personal trekking equipment.   • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      A representative from Sherpa Expedition Teams will pick you up and take you to your 3-star hotel in Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Drive From Kathmandu To Sotikhola (710M) 7-8 Hours.

      At around 5:30 this morning your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the bus station for our road trip to Soti Khola. The first four hours are comfortable and on sealed roads, but from Dhading Bensi (1050m) the road is unsealed and rough as we continue to Arughat and Soti Khola, the district headquarters of Dhading district.

      Today we follow the trail through the forests and head upriver on the banks of the Budhi Gandaki River. We follow the riverbed and along a trail across the mountains where we have frequent views down to the river below. Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse at Machha Khola.

      After crossing the Machha River and then pass the village of Khorlabesi (920m) before arriving at Tatopani, well-known for its therapeutic hot springs. The trail then continues through a forested area as we head to the Dovan Khola (river) and into to the Budhi Gandaki Valley. As we trek higher you will notice the change in the vegetation right up until we arrive at Jagat Village where we will stay at a  guest house overnight.

      Today we follow the trail through the valley to Sirdibas where there are grand views of Shringi Himal. After crossing a suspension bridge there is a steep ascent to Philim, with waterfalls plummeting down from the mountains on both sides of the valley. The next village is Ekle Bhatti and then Pewa Village as we continue on the trail heading up the valley until we come to Deng Village where we will stay overnight at a guest house.

      This morning we have a steep ascent before having to head back down to the Budi Gandaki River. We follow the trail through the valley and pass several small settlements. As we get closer to Namrung you will observe Mani stones (stones with carved with Tibetan mantras) indicating you are getting further into territory occupied by Tibetan Buddhists. In the afternoon we detour to Prok village (2 hour round trip) and then return to Namrung for our overnight stay at a guesthouse.

      It is like stepping back in time as we walk between the Mani stone walls of Lho Village. From Lho we can see the snow capped peak of Ngadi Chuli (7871m aka Peak 29). Another minor detour will take us up to the Pungen Glacier from where we have a close view of Mt. Manaslu. We will stay overnight at a guest house in Samagaun.

      Today is devoted to the acclimatization process before heading to higher altitudes. Health professionalsโ€™ vigorously recommend that you remain active during the day to better advance the process. Today we have an option of either a full day or a half-day trek. The full-day trek will take us to Manaslu Base Camp (4750m), a 6 to 7 hour return journey. The half-day trek will take us to a glacier directly across the valley, or to Birendra Ta. Tonight we will stay at a guest house at Samagaun.

      Today we head across the pastures and then down to the valley below with some fantastic views of the surrounding snow-covered peaks on the trail - especially Mt. Manaslu. We next come to the remote and distant Tibetan refugee village of Samdo, close to the Tibetan border. The afternoon is free for you to stroll around the village and the countryside.  Tonight we will stay at a guest house in Samdo.

      Today we cross several rivers before coming to Larkya Bazaar, a vibrant trading post for traders coming down from Tibet. From here we have to ascend up a steep trail until we come to Dharamsala where we will stay overnight in a guest house. 

  • Day 11 Day 11: Cross Larkya La (5,160M) To Bimtang (3,720M) 8-9 Hours.

      We have a tough slog ahead of us today as we follow the trail via Larkya La Pass (5106m/17,121 ft) to Bhimthang. We first climb to Cho Chanda and then up to the steep snow-covered pass. The views of many surrounding peaks are truly exceptional. The Himalayan mountains of Himlung Himal (7126m), Cheo Himal (6820m), Gyaji Kung (7030m), Kang Koru (698m) and Annapurna II (7937m) are clearly visible from the pass. We then follow a steep trail and cross moraines until we arrive at Bhimthang Village where we will stay at a guesthouse overnight.

      Today we head up through the cultivated fields and then descend through fig trees and rhododendron forests to reach Tilje. You begin with a climb over a small ridge and enjoy a stone-paved trail as it passes through a beautiful village. Crossing the bridge over the Dudh Khola River, you will head up through a Chorten-shaped archway; pass a Mani wall before coming to the village of Thonje. You will enter into the Annapurna Region at Dharapani where you will need to pass a police checkpoint. You will stay in Dharapani at guesthouse tonight.

      This is our final day of the Manaslu circuit trek. From Dharapani we will share a jeep to Besisahar and then go by bus to Kathmandu. You will be taken to your hotel where you can sit back, relax and look back at your amazing journey.
