After breakfast, start your trip from the Tiscapa Crater Lake. Around the lake, you will find several pre-Columbian remains and you can also overlook the Managua city. Next, head to the historical part of the city, where the National Museum and some antique buildings are located. Before lunch, enjoy some relaxing time at the lakefront. In the afternoon, we will drive 1.3 hours to León and have a walking tour at the León Viejo, also named the Old León, which is the remains of the Spanish colonial settlement. Now in the old city, you can see the foundations of the houses and the restored main buildings. In the morning, visit the León city area on foot. León used to be the capital of Nicaragua. You will see colonial style houses, churches, museums and local markets. Today’s highlight is the León Cathedral and the Ortiz Gurdian Museum. You will climb to the top of the León Cathedral and appreciate the city view.
