Transport

GIVE provides all transportation while in the host country, including vans, boats, and air travel. Once you meet with your group in country, we will take a bus to our accommodations in the Northwest corner of Nicaragua. To travel to the Caribbean Islands we take a bus to the airport and then we board a domestic airline that has daily flights to the east coast of Nicaragua to the Islands in the Caribbean.

Accommodation

Our accommodations throughout the majority of your trip are located on the beach and they are bungalow style. In Nicaragua, we stay literally on the beach throughout our 15 days. On the Pacific Coast we stay in a rustic style hostel in the community we will be serving during our stay. In the Caribbean we are staying in the coolest spot on the Island, on the white sandy beaches a stone throw away from the bright blue Caribbean waters.

Not included:

Insurance

All GIVE volunteers must have International Travel Insurance. This will provide coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, lost or stolen items, baggage claims, 24-hour medical evacuation, and more, which will put your mind at ease.

Flights

Flights are not included in the GIVE program cost. GIVE works closely with Flight Center in the USA and Flight Centre in Australia to organize the best flight options at competitive rates to your host country. We have group itineraries so volunteers arrive in country together. Depending on your departure city, you may even have other GIVE volunteers on your flight during your entire travel time to your host country!
