      Welcome to Lusaka!

      Lusaka city was named after the village chief called Lusaaka whose port was located at the point where the National Assembly building now stands. The area was then expanded to provide settlement for workers during the British colonial times. Today, Lusaka is a favorite city for many tourists, expatriates, students and the Zambians too simply because of the fast growing infrastructure, housing and easy access to services.

      Program of the day

      08:30 am: Our hospitality hostess and driver  will meet and greet you with genuine and  friendly Zambian hospitality reception at your lodge/hotel in Lusaka. You will then be served with mineral water and given one small gift item depicting the Zambian life vibe. 

      After a short briefing by the hostess, you will then be driven in a nice and air-conditioned vehicle straight to one the Hair braiding studios within Lusaka.

      09:00 am - Lusaka - At the Hair Studio

      Your personal hostess will gladly usher you into the hair braiding studio to meet your professional braider of the day. You will be shown a pamphlet showing all the available hair braids styles for you to choose from.

      African Braiding

      Once you have chosen and agreed on the hair style and pattern , you will then seat into one of the comfortable design-chair in the studio facing a squeaking clean wall mirror. With soft country music in the background, the profession braider  with her assistants will commence doing what they  best, braiding or plaiting dreadlocks  on your hair in your preferred hair style.

      12:00 pm: Lusaka - Still at the Hair Studio

      Photo session: After braiding your hair, a professional photographer will capture the best shots of your new hairdo style. 

      You will then take a group photo with your braider, hostess and yourself at any nice vantage spots.  A soft copy of all the photos will then be given to you to keep for your future reference.

      13:00 pm: Take a meal of Zambian Traditional Foods at Togetherness Restaurant in Middle way.

      You will then take a delicious meal of Zambian traditional food at the famous Togetherness Restaurant in Middle way. By eating this meal, you will discover the power of consuming a plant-based diet rooted in African & Indigenous practices.

      14:30 pm: Exciting Shopping Experience: LOVE IS IN THE AIR AT EAST PARK MALL (or at any other upmarket shopping mall in Lusaka)! 

      Your friendly, knowledgeable personal hostess will take you around the many beautiful and well-stocked shops housed in the luxurious East Park mall. She will go a long way to helping you have an amazing shopping experience at your own cost. East Park Mall is located at a very ideal location for shopping as the general environment is clean, well-kept, and looks nice.

      NOTE: Please note that you may go to a different shopping mall in Lusaka other than the East Park mall.

      15:00 pm: Visit the Lusaka National Museum:

      After your shopping experience, you will be driven to  the government complex where the Lusaka national museum is situated. The Lusaka cultural heritage museum tells the background about Zambia using four main divisions; ethnography, witchcraft, history and contemporary art.

      A visit to the national museum of Lusaka will be one of the highlight of your Lusaka tour. You will see exhibits like sculptures, paintings from all ages, cultural highlights and archaeological displays.

      17:00 pm: Lusaka - Dropped at your Lodge/Hotel

      You will be transferred back to your lodge/Hotel. This will mark the end of this exciting hair braiding experience leaving you with a beautiful hairstyle. You will now be a re-born person firmly rooted in African customs and traditions!

      The following day, you will be picked from your lodge/hotel for more exciting adventure activities at Chaminuka Lodge and Nature Reserve.

      Start of an exciting safari trip

      At  the luxury Chaminuka Lodge and Nature Reserve located 30 minutesโ€™ drive from Lusakaโ€™s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, you have a wonderful travel nature based experience. Chaminuka Nature Reserve is an amazing game park, a place worth spending your holiday.

      07:00 am:   You will be picked from your lodge/hotel in Lusaka.

      You will be transferred in a comfortable and air-conditioned vehicle for a 45 minutesโ€™ drive from Lusaka to Chaminuka.

      What you will do at Chaminuka Nature Reserve?  You will do a variety of unforgettable soft adventure activities in this unique wilderness setting which are listed below.

      Exciting and memorable Game Drive

      You will undertake thrilling game drive and see over 70 species of animals from an open safari vehicle. Chaminuka Nature Reserve is also a premier birding destination with more than 300 species of birdlife that have been recorded at this beautiful Nature Reserve. There is among them the Chaplinโ€™s barbet- a species unique to Zambia. 

      Elephant interactions

      You will see and interact with the worldโ€™s biggest mammals at very close range.

      You will go for an exciting speed boat cruise on lake Kasenga and Chikoti.  With over 300 species of birds spread around the reserve and its water bodies, youโ€™ll get the chance to spot some interesting winged creatures in their natural habitat, or simply enjoy the cool wind whispering in your ear.

      CHEESE AND WINE TASTING

      You will taste the locally made cheese and  find out why they are  greatly revered in Zambia.

      From Cheddar to Cheshire, Edam to Emmenthal, and Gouda to Gruyere, the Chaminuka award-wining cheeses are made on the same state. This activity is set in an aesthetically rich grotto designed by renowned Zambian artists.

      Art Tour

      You will go on a guided tour of  extensive art collection of Chaminukaโ€™s founder Sardanis which were collected over a period of 50 years . It is a brief journey into the history of  Zambia and also a glimpse into other African cultures.

      Sumptuous Meals

      You will be treated to the most delicious lunch prepared by some of Zambianโ€™ s best chefs.

      End of tour

      At the end of the day, you will be transferred back to your lodge/hotel in Lusaka marking the end of an exciting  2 day tour.
