Which is the best month to see the Northern Lights?

During the season (August - April) there is no better month than another, in reality it is very common to see them. But, when there is a greater possibility of seeing auroras, it is during the days of the new moon period (7 days before and 7 after), that is when there is less light. Is it 100% sure that I will be able to see Northern Lights?

It is very common, but it is not 100% sure. We must remember that this is a natural phenomenon, and nature will always have an unknown part that we still don't decipher. The probability of seeing Nothern Lights is always latent, that is why in this adventure we will look for them during the four nights. How is the weather in this adventure?

Temperatures: - August to September Day: + 10 C and + 20 C / Night: up to 0 C. - October to November Day: 0 C and -20 C / Night: -30 C and -40 C. - December - March Day: -15 C to -30 C / Night: -30 C and -40 C. The hotel and most places have heating, there is also the possibility of renting winter clothes for every day of the experience.

How do I get to WhiteHorse?

Whitehorse has an airport, generally flights from Mexico make a stopover in Vancouver or Calgary. Any of these options is excellent.

If you are Mexican, since December 2016 you do not need a visa to enter Canada as a tourist. However, you must process an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). If you have already processed visa and it is still valid, you can use it until it expires. It is very easy to process your eTA, to do so we recommend you read the following article of our blog. How much extra money do you recommend to take for extra expenses?

It is recommended to bring at least 65 CAD in cash for each day. ($ 1000 mxn approximately.) This adventure does not include: - Winter clothing for low temperatures. Optionally, you can rent. - Meals. - Travel insurance. Optionally, you can buy an assistance card for your trip. - Tips for guides. Keep in mind that the staff is well paid, so feel free to tip or not as you wish. - Flight tickets or transportation to arrive Whitehorse, Canada. - Additional costs or delays beyond the control of the administration (landscape, adverse weather conditions, modification of the itinerary due to a security problem, illness, change of government policy, political instability / strike, etc.)

Which is the hotel where I'm going to spend the nights?

Our adventure includes all accommodation in Whitehorse. Yes, minors who are between 5 and 11 years old at the time of travel and are accompanied by 2 adults have a special rate. Check the extras tab.

Where does the experience begin? Will you pick me up at the airport or hotel?

A tour representative will pick you up at the Whitehorse Airport upon arrival.

The official currency is Canadian Dolar; you can exchange money beforehand at an exchange house, or at the airport.

If the experience does not include meals, what is the average price for each?

There are many options to go out and eat in Whitehorse. The city offers a great variety of restaurants from fast food to high end establishments. Our guide will be happy to recommend places to eat, depending on your wishes.

Is there an individual supplement if I travel alone?

Yes, you can add one on 'extras'.

Where can I stay if I get there a day before or leave a day after?

You can add additional nights in the accommodation included.

Within what schedule will the tour finish on the last day?

The last day is free so it adapts to your flight schedule; a driver will pick you up at the hotel at the time you wish to leave.

What type of clothes/gear do I need?

You need winter clothes that are warm enough. The temperatures can be as cold as -40 degrees. In order to be safe and enjoy possible outdoor activities as well as looking at Aurora displays we strongly recommend the rental of the winter clothing package, unless you have good winter sport clothing at home.

What happens if I get sick or injured and can't continue?

We highly suggest getting a complete insurance that covers medical bills and cancelation. We will assist you in case of an emergency.

What is the size of the groups?

The groups may be of 2-30 people

Will there be phone coverage and/or Wifi?

You will have wifi at your accommodation, we suggest getting a local chip

Which is the voltage? Do I need an adaptor?

120 V, you don't need adaptor if your devices are from Mexico.

At what time should I get there on the first day?

Day 1 Welcome to Whitehorse
8:30 am - 8:30 pm

Welcome to Whitehorse

Upon arrival at the Whitehorse Airport, a tour representative will be waiting for you. He/she will be holding a sign with your name. The available schedule for airport pick up is from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm.
Afterwards, you get the transfer to your hotel in downtown Whitehorse. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants, banks and shops. We will have an introductory meeting. You will also have time to try on winter clothes (optional in case of renting them), go shopping and dine on your own.
Note: If you are unable to identify the tour representative at the airport, please contact us on the emergency number that will be provided after booking.
Timings are approximate and may change in destination.

Day 2 Whitehorse City Tour
10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Whitehorse City Tour

At 10 am we will pick you up at the hotel to start the city tour. You will get to see the train station of the White Pass and Yukon Route. We will also visit the following places: Log Skyscraper, Log Church, Sternwheeler SS Klondike, Fish ladder and Schwatka Lake.

Day 3 Wild Preserve of Yukon - Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs
10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Wild Preserve of Yukon - Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs

At 10 am we will pick you up at the hotel and depart from Whitehorse, driving approximately 30 km to the nature reserve of Yukon. We will have an excellent walk and guided tour with great opportunities to see and photograph wildlife in their natural habitat. Afterwards, we will take you to the Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs where you will have access to the hot water pools to relax and enjoy the winter landscape while you are not cold.
Note: Due to the alcohol sale inside the hot springs, minors under 19 years of age are not allowed to enter the establishment, so if they travel with people 18 years of age or younger, a responsible adult will have to accompany them back to the hotel in Whitehorse .
