Itinerary of your trip Desert, Rock Paintings And Victoria Falls (Including Brandbe

  • Day 1 Day 1-2: Arrival In Livingstone
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1-2: Arrival In Livingstone

Bwanji - Welcome to Zambia. How David Livingstone must have rubbed his eyes in amazement when he saw the spectacular Victoria Falls in 1855? Thundering smoke, rising up to 300 meters high and visible from afar, is responsible for the rainforest through which you walk. Your journey through magical Africa begins at 2 p.m. on the dot and your first highlight is, of course, the Victoria Falls. If you want to start the journey with a heart-stopping experience, you can take part in white-water rafting, helicopter flights or boat trips (optional). 2 nights in a lodge.

  • Day 2 Day 3: Livingstone - Caprivi Strip
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Livingstone - Caprivi Strip

There is much to see in the west, so you leave Zambia and continue your journey through the Caprivi Strip (also known as the Zambezi region). First you reach the Caprivi Mutoya Camp. Only the zipper separates you from the voices of Africa, as you spend the night in spacious tents right on the banks of the river. As night falls over the camp, the lanterns light the way to the cozy lounge area. A boat trip on the Kwando River, which later flows into the Zambezi, opens up new perspectives. Sit back and relax while the local guide introduces you to the beauty of nature. Overnight stay at the camp. (Travel time approx. 4 hours, 300 km).

  • Day 3 Day 4: Caprivi Strip: Game Drives
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Caprivi Strip: Game Drives

Ngepi Camp, with its pretty thatched cottages, is your destination today. You can relax in the cool water of the pool. The first safari of your trip today is in Mahango National Park. The park enchants with a variety of wild animals, such as elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos and numerous species of antelope. Bird lovers are also in for a treat: around 400 species have already been spotted. Overnight stay in the camp (Tree House). (Travel time approx. 4 hours, 350 km).

  • Day 4 Day 5: Caprivi Strip - Rundu
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Caprivi Strip - Rundu

The sweet smell of coffee wafts through the camp as you hear rustling and rustling in the tent. Perhaps it is the fish eagle that has settled down to relax, or the fork-tailed roller performing its courtship dances. You leave the idyll to the west and reach Rundu, the gateway to the Caprivi. You spend the night in a lodge on the banks of the Okavango. Overnight stay in a lodge. (Travel time approx. 3 hours, 210 km).

  • Day 5 Day 6-8: Rundu - Etosha National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 6-8: Rundu - Etosha National Park

The scenery changes abruptly as you reach your next destination, the Etosha National Park. You can guess who likes to cavort at Olifantsbad. Youโ€™ll be surprised who quenches their thirst in Gemsbokvlakte and Rietfontein, Salvadora and Aus. The Big Four meet along the numerous waterholes and you are right in the middle of it all. For two whole days you go on safari along the heart of the park, the huge, wide salt pan. 3 nights on a guest farm. (Day 6: driving time approx. 9 hours, 720 km).

  • Day 6 Day 9: Etosha National Park - Brandberg
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 9: Etosha National Park - Brandberg

Whether the Bushmen had an eye for the beauty of nature around the Brandberg over 1000 years ago is questionable. The fact is that the more than 43,000 rock paintings provide posterity with a fascinating insight into everyday life at the time. One in particular has become famous ... the Brandberg White Lady. But you will find out on your day in Damaraland whether she really is a lady and whether she really is white. Occasionally, a bull elephant even strays into the arid region. Today you will be staying at the lodge of the same name at the foot of the Brandberg. Overnight stay in a lodge. (Travel time approx. 6 hours, 430 km).

  • Day 7 Day 10-11: Brandberg - Swakopmund
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 10-11: Brandberg - Swakopmund

The cool Benguela current is good for you, because today you can breathe in the fresh sea air. Breathing deeply is difficult at Cape Cross, however, as the 250,000 or so seals are not exactly famous for their good smell. Black Forest gateau and schnitzel, which sounds strange, is quite normal in the cafรฉs and breweries of Swakopmund. The town lives from and with its colonial heritage. The afternoon is free for you to stroll around the town. There are numerous activities on offer the next day. One of them is particularly recommended and would make any biology teacher green with envy. We set off for the Namib, where you will be introduced to the gecko and desert chameleon, the survival artists of the desert (optional). Enjoy dinner in one of the townโ€™s restaurants (optional). 2 nights in a guesthouse. (Day 10: driving time approx. 3.5 hours, 250 km).

  • Day 8 Day 12-13: Swakopmund - Namib Desert
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 12-13: Swakopmund - Namib Desert

You leave the coastal town of Swakopmund behind you and drive through Namibiaโ€™s unique "lunar landscape". The Namib Desert and Namibiaโ€™s most famous attraction - the worldโ€™s highest dunes in Sossusvlei - are the next highlights of your trip. The sun rises breathtakingly over the dunes and bathes the surroundings in magical light. The coach takes you directly into the Sossusvlei. The last few kilometers can be covered by four-wheel drive vehicle (costs approx. 6 โ‚ฌ p.p.). You will then explore the nearby Sesriem Canyon. 2 nights in camp. (Day 12: driving time approx. 5 hours, 350 km).

  • Day 9 Day 14: Namib Desert - Windhoek
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 14: Namib Desert - Windhoek

After so much solitude, the hustle and bustle of Namibiaโ€™s only major city is just what you need. Surrounded by the Khomas Highlands, it combines the architecture of a modern capital with historical buildings from the German colonial era. After a stroll, the day comes to an end in one of the numerous restaurants (at your own expense). Overnight stay in a guest house. (Travel time approx. 4.5 hours, 350 km).

  • Day 10 Day 15: Departure
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 15: Departure

For all those who have opted for the 15-day trip, the tour ends today in Windhoek.
