      Excursion To Kuang Si Waterfalls

We will wake up early to experience the traditional and most sacred ceremony in Laos since the 14th century, the monksโ€™ almsgiving. More than 200 Buddhist monks come out from various temples to receive food from residents sitting silently on the streets.

From there, we will visit the morning market near the old Rea Palace, where local people gather to exchange their products such as rice, vegetables, fish or chicken. This is the best opportunity to experience the taste of local life.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the UXO Visitor Center (closed on Saturdays and Sundays), where you can find the documentation about the secret war in Laos.

Then we visit the Buffalo Dairy Farm, which is the first of its kind in Laos. The farm helps the Lao farmer to make profits from the dairy products of their buffalos, which they could not imagine before.

Next we will travel to the beautiful Kuang Si waterfalls, which are the largest in Luang Prabang with three levels that feature natural pools of blue water.

We will have the whole afternoon free to cool off in the cool, clear water, or walk to the top of the waterfalls.

We can also visit the nearby village of Ban Thapene and explore the hidden waterfalls that are more pristine. We will also make a short visit to the Bear Rescue Center, which houses a dozen animals rescued from poachers and traffickers.

On the way back to Luang Prabang, we will visit the Ok Pop Tok Living Crafts Centre, located very close to the Mekong River, it is a beautiful traditional-style workshop, where weavers, spinners and batik makers produce high-quality fabrics. They offer free tours every half hour. On the other hand, it is an ideal place to watch the sunset in Luang Prabang
